Tesla is bad because climate change is a hoax and only white people are discriminated against?

Is that what you mean by my $1,000 Tesla shares?

Despite AGW, why the hate?

They hate solar, they hate electric cars, they hate wind, they hate energy conservation, they hate the energy star products, they hate LED bulbs, they hate water conservation, they hate public transit, they yell at the sun and all to own the Libs.

Crude market teetering on the brink again today.
Not sure how much more government support they can hope for. It is possible oil will have to learn to survive in a free market.

Pity our poor hemerHOID! LIE-berals have handled EVERYTHING SO BADLY - it is the end of LIE-berals!

That means that hemerHOID is the one who will be forced to survive in a "FREE" market!

HemerHOID will have to learn to get along WITHOUT all that LIE-beral GRAVY!

Here is an article illustrating the NONSENSE at the heart of so much of LIE-beral Green Policy! With some comments of my own in brackets):

Going green without the green.

By Angela Lackey, from Calgary Journal

Published February 25, 2020

‘Going green’ is something that feels out of reach for many Albertans and Richard Boyd an energy economist from the U.K. wants to help change that.

What does upgrading household insulation, appliances and plumbing have in common? Lower household carbon emissions, right? How about high costs and low accessibility?

(IN the first place - “new and improved” often translates into HIGHER COST and shorter service life and NOT a good bargain for over taxed Cdns!)

(Yes - after decades of LIE-beral rent control - owners of low rise rental units HAVE NO MONEY AVAILABLE to lower their carbon emissions!! I know a young guy who was renting a town house and his heating bill JUMPED BY THIRTY PERCENT during a recent record breaking winter - as the seals on the old windows dried out and cracked!! And of course when there is lots of condensation - there is also wet fibreglass insulation - and WET fibreglass has ZERO insulation value!)

(In related news- the townhouse complex was also having trouble with its AGING electrical system - things shorting out and requiring emergency visits by the fire dept!! The units ALL NEED to be GUTTED AND REBUILT - BUT WHO WILL PAY FOR THIS?? Unless the landlord is permitted to PUT UP THE RENTS - with LIE-berals viewing tight rent controls as a VALID VOTE BUYING TOOL?)

(Dwellers in rental units are CAUGHT between LIE-beral gravy grabbing greed and the desperate need to repair DECAYING rental units!)

‘Going green’ is something that feels out of reach for many Albertans.

(Yes - as one who has done the job - tearing apart a single family dwelling and adding substantial insulation DOES bring down heating costs - but the job is VERY LABOUR INTENSIVE - and requires that one live for a LONG TIME in a construction site!! Such a place IS NOT a suitable playground for small children!)

Richard Boyd, an energy economist worked in the United Kingdom with individuals that couldn’t afford to pay their bills, let alone make their homes more green.

When he moved to Alberta, he found the exact same problem in the country’s energy capital; now he’s here to help. Boyd came to Alberta in 2008, after working on the energy poverty strategy for the U.K.

(So he was a well paid govt HOG in Britain and is now a well paid govt HOG in Alberta!! And LIE-berals DO NOT want to discuss the CRIPPLING COST of feeding all our union HOGS at the public trough!! Most specifically it is the solid gold pensions supplied to HOGS that are the most crippling cost issue!)

Energy poverty is “a situation where a household finds it difficult to afford a level of energy services at home where they feel comfortable or it's not impacting their health,” says Boyd.

(Uh huh- and it is a function of our service economy - where sales and service people have their wages regulated by standard Capitalist laws of supply and demand - while our HOGS and LIE-berals continue their GROSS CONFLICT OF INTEREST - with HOGS selling their votes to LIE-berals in exchange for gravy!)

(Hogs are LEGALLY ENTITLED to obtain almost DOUBLE the pension benefit that the rest of us are allowed- with HOGS getting about 33 percent of pre- tax income invested while ordinary people are allowed a MAXIMUM of 18 percent - assuming their employer is even willing to PROVIDE a define benefit pension plan in the work place!! The HOG “defined benefit” pension plan IS THE GOLD STANDARD of pension plans and that cost is BREAKING US!)

Boyd came to Alberta to do an analysis for the Energy Efficiency Alberta program, estimating cost and emission savings from the different provincial programs. He found that participation was exclusive to certain income groups, with very little participation from disadvantaged populations.

(Ah - “certain income groups” - sounds LIKE HOGS ONLY?)

Because of his experience with energy poverty in the U.K. - he knew something was missing here.

Boyd perceived Alberta to be a wealthy province, where people should be able to pay their energy bills. He was surprised when he found out that wasn’t the case, as there were no current programs in place to address this problem.

(So we have imported a Brit with sales skills only - and NO Cdn experience!)

Boyd, along with Helen Corbett from the All One Sky Foundation and a group of stakeholders started with research and workshops. What was the extent of the problem in Alberta?

From there, the project kicked off in 2015 with a paper titled: Energy Poverty, an Agenda for Alberta. A paper that explains the health effects and social impacts that were the primary drivers behind the strategies placed in Europe and the U.K.

Four years later, they are putting their proposal into action. Boyd, using inspiration from his work on energy poverty in the U.K., planned Edmonton’s first set of ‘energy cafes’ which are due to begin this month.

The café’s focus is on education and although that may not sound as sexy as Ty Pennington yelling “move that bus!” unveiling a zero-carbon footprint dwelling from the U.K. 's cafés scored favourably, with the average participant rating of nine out of 10 for benefits experienced since starting the program.

(This is LIE-beral speak meaning that well heeled HOGS like the program - but ordinary people are IGNORING IT due to the COST!)

The programs carry little to no cost for their attendees and the lessons are personalized based on household lifestyles and resources.

They are taught things like how to properly read their utility bills and how to save money while reducing household stress.

(And now our always helpful HOGS are using our tax money to tell us that the BOTTOM LINE PRICE IS SIGNIFICANT?? And that we CAN SEE how much electricity we used in a month by looking at the little box THAT TELLS US what we are being charged for?? And at this point - how many Cdns are really IGNORANT of the fact you can save on electricity by doing your laundry at 3am?)

(AND REALLY - does it take a hired gun from Britain to tell us we can save energy by putting on a sweater and turning down the thermostat!! As always LIE-berals INSULT US with their virtue signalling simplistic CRAP!)

Between one in five to one in seven households are candidates for the program.

“Given that it’s at least 20 per cent of the population, and doing that in multiple cities - that's where it all adds up. So each house makes a difference,” says Boyd.

Because ‘going green’ feels like a rich man’s game, many aren’t aware of the impact they can make.

(Uh huh and HALF THE POPULATION lives in rental units with No cash and virtually NO real control over their rental units!)

(LIE-beral virtue signalling is SO FOOLISH they are pestering people to do laundry at 3am to save pennies - while IGNORING the TRILLIONS OF LITRES of freshly filtered drinking water leaking from our aging pipes!! Bad enough that so many of our water pipes are made of TOXIC LEAD - BUT ITS EVEN WORSE that our electrically powered water treatment plants ROUTINELY SPILL TWENTY FIVE PERCENT of the treated water - BEFORE it gets to consumers!)

“We need to make a low carbon future inclusive,” Boyd says. “You know everyone recognizes that you need to bring everybody along, you can't leave anyone behind.”

(LIE-berals ARE TRULY DEDICATED to leaving MOST OF CANADA BEHIND!! They are building a TWO TIER ECONOMY with civil service union HOGS and other SELECT special interest groups living high and mighty -with a HUGE carbon foot print - while the rest of us shiver in the dark as WE PAY FOR the carbon rich lifestyle of LIE-berals and their pals!)

(LIE-berals whine about our need to insulate our homes - while our scenic northern lakes are FULL OF HUGE MOTORBOATS!! I saw one boat that was so large that teens were SURFING ON THE WAVES THE BOAT THREW UP - and that game went on for hours!! What price for house insulation when that sort of fuel is being wasted just to entertain some kids?)

(Or get to a scenic Muskoka lake shore and watch as a dozen SeaDoos go ripping down the lake - super charged 300 horsepower engines screaming at full throttle as the machines skip and dance over the waves - and LIE-berals want to tell us we are in the midst of a CLIMATE EMERGENCY and must destroy OUR LIVES with carbon tax SCAMS so the HOGS can continue to PLAY?)

(THE ONLY THING TRULY AT RISK HERE - is the continued survival of LIE-beral govt as its HYPOCRISY is exposed ever more fully!)

Its another Sunday. Maybe time to sit back and take another look at what has happened since January 01.
DOW JONES started the year at 28,800 and is now at 19,174 down about 33%
TSX started the year at 17,100 and is now at 11,852 down about 44%
GE started the year at $11.93 and is now at $6.52 down about 45%
Teck resources started the year at $22.68 and is now at $10.12 down about 55%
Tesla started the year at $430 and is now at $427 down less than 1%

As far as Canadians go Tesla figures are irrelevant. Vehicle sales are rock bottom right now (I know - my grand daughter's B.F. is in the business) How many Canadians will be buying a Tesla in the next year? 1000? if that!

I was laughing at $900 tesla shares making you look worse than you normally look re Tesla.

How badly does this company have to defeat you before you say uncle?

Its the worst year in stock market history and tesla is up $100 a share.

Looks to be a better option than Tesla
The electric pickup trucks that may change your mind about diesel

All of a sudden the biggest story in electric cars is trucks: Electric pickup trucks. Here's what's coming, who will make them, and why you may stop sneering and want one.
So many electric trucks coming
The world gawked when Tesla unveiled its futuristic-but-fragile Cybertruck. It promises acceleration that will drop most Porsches, towing that will embarrass any F-150 (though Ford, as you can imagine, strongly disputes that claim) and looks that you can't get anywhere else.

GM announced it's bringing back the Hummer as the exact opposite of the gas-guzzling troglodyte it used to be: The name will grace a brawny, 400 mile range electric pickup.
Want more? Add in startup trucks like the Lordstown Endurance with four in-wheel motors and a base price of $52,500, the Atlis XT promising up to 500 miles of range and 15 minute charges for a base price of $45,500, the aluminum Bollinger B2 pickup with its Defender aesthetics and stout price of $125,000, or the Nikola Badger, a 1,000-horsepoter, 1,000 lb-ft pickup with a combination battery and fuel cell powertrain.
But what's the point?
This is a real trend, but most truck buyers will still ask the same question: Why? Electric trucks will come at them with five answers to that question.
Massive torque. Torque is fun in a car but essential in a truck, where the name of the game is often grunt, not speed. The new electric pickups toss around four-figure torque and HP numbers like that's normal. But torque is just what electric motors do by nature.
True discrete AWD. Commonly equipped with quad motors, electric pickups give you the holy grail of perfect, intelligent 4-wheel drive without the clunky driveshafts, transfer cases and locking hubs of a conventional 4x4 pickup. But these trucks are going to need that space and weight savings for the battery.
Job site power. Trucks go to work, and the big battery that powers them can also be a great job site power source. Hercules goes so far as to offer 15, 20 and 30-amp AC outlets. …….More

The catch again being sacrificing payload for batteries. For a citiot that just has to have a big truck to go to the ski hill 3 times a year and the lake 2 times, all on paved roads it will probably work just fine. For the contractor, farmer, logger that carries about 1000 pounds of junk on a good day and more most days there are severe restrictions. Also the not insignificant power loss in cold weather.

EV efficiency is far less degraded by payload than is IC efficiency because as payload ^ regenerative energy recovery ^

Just one more reason why EV are a superior energy source
