Is it not amazing how relentlessly the NDP avoided telling us the full truth about their polices as we approached the election? Here is an article reminding us of and exposing some of the NDP crap. With some comments of my own in brackets):

Horwath tap danced to the bitter end

She ended her campaign Wednesday pretty much the way she started it — talking in bumper sticker slogans, mudslinging and trading on hope.

After emphasizing that her plan for the “people” will take care of “hallway medicine” — this time at another staged event outside an east Scarborough restaurant — I asked NDP leader Andrea Horwath about her sanctuary province promise.

Namely, I wanted to know how the heck did she expect to get rid of “hallway medicine” if — as the highly-respected Concerned Ontario Doctors group (headed by Dr. Kulvinder Gill) say — her promise could add $2.5-billion in costs annually to an already overburdened health-care system.

(Neither NDPers nor LIE-berals want to talk about the already considerable costs- in the billions- for tending to the 50,000 mostly Syrian refugees that Our idiot Boy Justin brought here in 2016! And of course the number of illegals that are arriving here is NOT being reported honestly by LIE-berals to begin with- and the numbers keep rising with great rapidity- so it will be hard to make serious estimates valid for the long term!)

I mean, that $2.5-billion, which does not include dental care, counselling services, or welfare, is a pretty big-ticket item and not costed out in the NDP plan.

Horwath quickly pivoted, as she has done repeatedly whenever asked a hard question, to her virtue signalling message about it being an “Ontario value” and a “humane thing” to provide medical treatment to anyone who turns up at an emergency ward.

But, but … it wasn’t costed, Ms. Horwath.

She actually had the audacity to say her platform was “fully costed” and without a trace of shame, dumped on PC leader Doug Ford for “selling a bill of goods with no price tag” attached.

But, but … it’s a pretty big ticket item, Ms. Horwath.

(Both NDPers and LIE-berals are oddly fixated on what the cost of Ford simply saying NO to all manner of new spending- with accompanying borrowing- might be! How does the phrase “NO NEW MONEY” require elaborate accounting?)

She responded only in bumper sticker slogans, insisting that her platform addresses people’s concerns whether they be related to dental care, prescription drugs, decrepit schools or affordable hydro.

(Sadly- the NDPer plan ONLY addresses SOME PEOPLES concerns- and leaves other in the lurch! For instance kids in McJobs and old folks on fixed incomes are FORGOTTEN! Ndpers will throw money at chosen pals- just as LIE-berals did- its just that NDPers have a DIFFERENT list of pals- with non union kids and old folks NOT on either list!)

Yes indeed, Horwath is the one to fix everything, provide everything for free, keep the greedy unions happy and it won’t hurt a bit — meaning she’ll just take the money from the “rich.”

(And what makes NDPers THINK there are that many generous rich folks LEFT in Ontari-owe?)

Unicorns and rainbows. A chicken in every pot. The good times will roll. Change for the better!

(And forget about school of hard knocks rules like “no pain- no gain”!)

Never mind that Ontario is the highest sub-sovereign borrower, its debt more than $300 billion or that the credit agencies recently downgraded the province’s rating from stable to negative.

Don’t worry, be happy!

It was actually terrifying to hear Horwath so disconnected, so out of touch from the true costs of her platform.

(The silly cow actually BELIEVES there will be no HARSH reaction from bankers to the NDP madness!)

But, but … Ms. Horwath, if you keep spending and racking up debt, you will spend all the province’s money on servicing that debt instead of on the very services you want to provide to families to deliver “hope for the future.”

When I asked her about overspending her office budget by more than 20% while she was a Hamilton city councillor in 2002– and whether that reckless spending was a foreshadowing of what would happen if she became premier — she said that happened a long time ago.

Then she pivoted back to her talking points.

“This campaign is all about the future of our province,” she said. “It’s all about how children can build a great future here … how seniors can have the quality of life they deserve … that is something that we together can achieve.”

And without missing a beat, she claimed the campaign has been full of “mudslinging, lots of lies, that negative, negative tone and lots of accusations” thrown her way.

Oh really?

I would beg to differ. In NDP jargon, accusations must be equated with tough questions.

She had pretty much a free ride. Questions about her dozen controversial candidates were dismissed as petty politicking and mudslinging. Criticism about the costs of her platform was swept aside with her fuzzy-wuzzy talk of “change for the better.”

(One of the “tough questions” that might have been asked of NDPers- but never was- would be if they agree with radical Muslims that Israel must be destroyed before there can be peace in the Middle East? Certainly a substantial number of NDPers want to see Jews “driven into the sea” as Hamas and Hezzbollah terror groups have sworn to do!)

In fact, if anything, Horwath spent the past 30 days tap dancing around the truth.

Sun columnist Sue-Ann Levy tried repeatedly Wednesday to get NDP leader Andrea Horwath to respond to claims her uncosted plan to declare Ontario a sanctuary province will hike health care costs by $2.5 billion. Did Horwath duck the question? You be the judge:

LEVY: Concerned Ontario Doctors said your sanctuary city plan will cost $2.5 billion, yet you say you’re going to relieve hallway medicine. How are you going do that with a $2.5-billion (cost) which just barely, barely covers medical needs? Doesn’t cover anything else, like dental care, and all kinds of counseling supports, and welfare?

HORWATH: Well again, I believe that the most appropriate thing that anybody could expect is that if someone is in dire medical need, and they show up to an emergency ward, that we provide them with the treatment that they require. That is a Canadian value, that’s an Ontario value, and it’s something that I think most people would agree is the humane thing to do.

LEVY: Why wasn’t it costed in your platform?

HORWATH: Again, this is something that I think most people would agree is the right thing to do. We certainly have a fully positive platform, unlike Mr. Ford, who has still decided, day before election day, that he’s not gonna be honest and open with the people of Ontario. So he’s basically selling a bill of goods with no price tag on it, which is something that’s extremely, extremely worrisome.

LEVY: But this is a big ticket item, Ms. Horwath.

HORWATH: Again, I think it’s a pretty clear that we have a platform that responds to the concerns that people have. Whether that’s making sure that people get the prescription drugs they need, and the dental care they need, whether that’s making sure that our schools are fixed, so our kids can have safe learning environments, or whether that’s making sure our electricity system is affordable, and in public hands again. These are things Ontarians really wanna see, and I’m looking forward to providing that change tomorrow, once the polls are closed.

(Here is another “tough question” that should be asked of both NDPers at the provincial AND federal level and of federal LIE-berals would be this: “how much do you think it will cost to deport 80,000 illegals who have NO ability to survive in Canada without long term massive govt aid due to their lack of any actual educational and language skills”! And how much do these shameless vote buyers think it will cost to keep these illegals as if they were no more than stray cats?)
