(it takes about 30 minutes to charge a Tesla at a Supercharger)
19 times = 9.5hrs charging. Somehow that doesn't fit the timeline at their 58mph average.
Somebody is full of shit.
2811 miles taking 19 charges is 147.94 mile per charge.

It should take 4-6 days to drive across the country.

A tesla can do it in 48 hours and 10 minutes

My point is that anyone who thinks you can't take a long trip in an EV needs to understand that you can go coast to coats in 48 hours and 10 minutes.

Not sure how this could be confusing anyone.

That is route pending. If they were only getting 147 miles on a charge there wouldn't be many deviations off the interstate.

That's not freedom.

My point is that anyone who is worried about the range of evs can think about the fact that you can go coast to coast in a Tesla in 48 hours and 10 minutes which is much faster than anyone would want to do.

Again, what part of that is tripping you up?

Washington DC
NY to LA by jet: 4 hours, 47 minutes.
... So, what's your point?
Getting from anyplace anybody actually lives or works to JFK or LaGuardia: 2 hours.

Waiting in line to get your crotch groped and get on the plane: 2 hours.

Getting from your plane to the curb outside LAX: 1 hour.

Getting from the curb outside LAX to anyplace you want to be in LA: 3 hours.

emissions 0?
Depends. Probably coal and NG with some hydro and a shitload of bunker fuel shipping it across the Atlantic twice.

Why didn't they just rent one?

Could they have done US2 across country? Far more scenic than I85.

Fly to John Wayne in Santa Ana and save a shitload of time dealing with LAX.

One could make a parallel argument re: LA traffic.

Ultimately, the true comparison would have to incorporate door-to-door travel to a common d/t location.

That said, don't pretend that you didn't like the groping.... Hell, some folk might pay extra for that
