Well Beagle 2 was controlled by ESA at Darmstadt (Intestine Town) in Germany. And most missions to Mars have ended in failure.
The British gave the world the Harrier Jump Jet, Concorde, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, the first iron propeller-driven ship SS Great Britain.
We built Stonehenge, St Paul's Cathedral, the Palace of Westminster, the Mini, the red phone box, the World Wide Web, the computer, the telephone and the mini skirt.
Canada cannot compare. It's like Dagenham & Redbridge compared to Manchester City.
Right.

It's Wensleydale.

ET?

It's an alien deadmans/fail deadly switch.

Once we reach a certain tech level a giant gun aimed at earth will emerge from under the moon's surface and shoot a hole through the earth.

Seriously??? Okay, Big directed blast on the far side of the moon will create a crack on the near side and with that opening the continuation of the transfer of the remains of the moon's core can being, in earnest thanks to the breech in the fragile crust.
Any questions??
Memo update: the good news is they will be about the size of a bus so the craters will be on the smallish size, the bad news is the will be several million of then between start and the finish and the 30 days of darkness that comes with it as a bonus.. I believe that would be the right term to use in that movie.
