the theory is that families that qualify for food stamps also qualify for every other state and federal income support (welfare)- its is informally called the "Walmart Tax".
You can't have a minimum wage debate without talking about poverty in a larger sense.
Will increasing min wage a couple of bucks an hour actually get people off welfare?

Does having people in poverty cost us any money?
