The Congo has become the world’s slaughterhouse and the bottom of the barrel in human depravity.
A horrific new report says boys have been forced to rape their mothers, cannibal soldiers are feasting on the flesh and blood of the dying victims and there are beheadings on a daily basis.
United Nations investigators have uncovered a horror show in the Kasai region where rebels and government forces have committed unspeakable atrocities.
Last week, investigators told the UN’s Human Rights Council they suspected all sides were guilty of crimes against humanity.

“One victim told us that in May 2017 she saw a group of Kamuina Nsapu militia, some of whom sported female genitals as medals,” the report said.
“Some witnesses recalled seeing people cutting up, cooking and eating human flesh, including penises cut from men who were still alive and from corpses, especially FARDC, and drinking human blood.”
According to the report, in one massacre, 186 village men and boys were beheaded.
The civil war exploded in late 2016 and involves Kamuina Nsapu and Bana Mura militias and Congo’s armed forces, the FARDC.
The 126-page report contains a catalogue of disturbing bloodletting. Among the claims:
— Boys being forced to rape their mothers
— Girls told witchcraft would enable them to catch bullets
— Women forced to choose between gang rape and death.
Congo’s human rights minister claims she was shocked by the report and that the government is looking into it.
Many of the rebel fighters are young children who have been forced to fight. Most are unarmed or using just sticks. The kids believe a witch doctor’s magic makes them invulnerable.
The UN report said many of the child soldiers were slaughtered when FARDC soldiers machine-gunned them.
“The bodies were often buried in mass graves … or were sometimes piled in trucks by soldiers to be buried elsewhere,” the report said.
Investigators believe there may be hundreds of mass graves scattered about the desperate African country.

PATNA, India — Police in eastern India have arrested a school principal, two teachers and three students after a teenage girl blamed them and another 13 schoolmates for repeatedly raping her for the last seven months, police said Saturday.
Police arrested the six after the girl named the 19 accused in a written complaint on Friday, said police officer Har Kishore Rai.
Violent crime against women has been on the rise in India despite tough laws enacted in 2013. The laws were enacted following the December 2012 fatal gang rape of a student on a moving New Delhi bus.
Rai said the girl recorded her statement before a local court on Saturday and the report of her medical examination was upcoming. He said police were looking for the 13 others accused in the complaint.
The girl, a ninth-grade student in Bihar state, said in her complaint that she was first raped in December by three schoolmates who took video of the attack, Rai said. He said the accused shared the video with some friends in the school, who blackmailed and raped the girl.
She was also blackmailed by two teachers who had obtained the video, Rai said.
He said the girl finally complained to the school principal, who instead of looking into the allegations, also sexually exploited her.
“The complaint points out that (the accused) blackmailed and repeatedly raped the girl,” Rai said. “We’ve formed a special team and an investigation has been started on a priority basis.”
The girl said she did not report the abuse immediately, “fearing society would ostracize” her, the English-language Hindustan Times newspaper reported.
Officials in Bihar estimate that at least 250 minors and women have been raped in the state in the first six months this year.
Since the 2012 New Delhi gang rape, there have been repeated protests and assurances by the authorities for the speedy trial of cases of sexual violence. But the scourge has continued in India, where women are still often relegated to second-class citizenship.

ANKARA, Turkey — Turkish police detained a controversial Islamic televangelist on Wednesday and were seeking hundreds of people linked to him for alleged crimes including forming a criminal gang, fraud, blackmail and sexual abuse.
Istanbul police said warrants were issued against Adnan Oktar and 234 of his followers and that financial crime units were carrying out operations in Istanbul and four other cities to detain them.
Oktar was detained in his villa in Istanbul’s upmarket Cengelkoy district, state-run Anadolu agency reported. Video footage showed Oktar and other suspects being escorted to a hospital for medical checks before being questioned by police.
The news agency said 166 of the suspects had been detained so far in raids on 120 addresses in four provinces. Dozens of weapons and ammunition, a bullet proof vest and an armoured vehicle were seized during the search.
Police said accusations against Oktar and his group include forming a gang with criminal intent, sexual abuse of minors, sexual assault, kidnapping, blackmail, fraud, money laundering and exploitation of religious sentiments.
A court ordered that the property of all suspects be seized and government trustees were appointed to companies, foundations and associations, according to Anadolu.
In February, Turkey’s media watchdog imposed fines on Oktar’s TV channel and suspended broadcasts of shows where the televangelist holds Islamic theological discussions surrounded by glamorous women known as “kittens.” The women are often provocatively dressed, hair bleached blond with plastic surgery. More than 100 of those to be detained are women.
Oktar — also known by his pen name Harun Yahya — has authored numerous books promoting creationism against Darwin’s theory of evolution as well as conspiracy theories.
Asked why he was being held, Oktar told journalists as he entered the hospital: “It’s a British plot.” He did not explain his comment.
People gathered outside the hospital and were heard booing and mocking him.
Elvan Kocak, a Turk living in Austria, filed a lawsuit against Oktar earlier this year, accusing him of kidnapping his two daughters, after he saw them on one of the televangelist’s broadcasts. After hearing the news of the operation, Kocak was quoted on private news agency DHA as saying “I am very excited, very happy.”
Ceylan Ozgul, a woman who appeared on Oktar’s shows, told Anadolu she escaped the network in 2017 after spending a decade inside. She said, “Girls who are seven, 10, 14, 17-years-old are abused here and there are girls who are repeatedly raped.” She warned parents on social media to watch out for their children.

Halifax-based Buddhist leader faces new sexual misconduct allegations

HALIFAX — The spiritual leader of one of the largest Buddhist organizations in the western world is facing fresh sexual misconduct allegations as a Halifax law firm prepares to launch an independent investigation into claims against him.
A Chilean woman alleges Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche dragged her into a bathroom, groped her and tried to remove her clothes during a dinner party in Santiago, Chile, in 2002.
The unnamed woman came forward with her account of the alleged incident after multiple women accused the Shambhala International leader of sexual misconduct in a report published last month.
Her claims are included in a new memo by Carol Merchasin, a lawyer who oversaw a preliminary investigation into the initial claims against the Halifax-based Buddhist leader.
The unnamed woman says she was working as an assistant cook at a dinner party when a Mipham, who was described as “visibly drunk,” invited the staff to join the gathering while he read poetry.
According to Merchasin’s memo, released Wednesday, he took her hand and dragged her to a bathroom, where he locked the door and prevented her from leaving.
“He groped her breasts and began trying to remove her clothes,” says Merchasin’s report, which is based on interviews with the woman and a corroborating witness. “He forced her hand to his genitals, even though she told him ‘no’ several times.”
After roughly 15 minutes, she says she managed to push Mipham away from the door, unlocked it and escaped.
She says she immediately described the alleged assault to the cook, and the next day she says she spoke about the incident to a person who was travelling with the Shambhala leader.
That person, referred to as a corroborating witness, was able to confirm the story the woman first recounted in 2002, Merchasin said.
“I found this woman very credible,” she said. “She reached out immediately after the incident to others, telling them the same story.”
The allegations follow Mipham’s alleged “patterns of behaviour” detailed in the report last month, Merchasin said.
In that report, by former Shambhala community member Andrea Winn, several women accuse him of heavy drinking and using his attendant to “procure women students for his own sexual gratification.”
None of the allegations has been proven in court and no charges have been laid.
Mipham’s lawyer said he received the new report and was reviewing it.
“For the moment, and so as not to interfere with the independent investigation, my client will not be offering any comment at this time,” Michael Scott said in an email.
However, Mipham said in a letter Tuesday that he takes responsibility for the pain the Buddhist community is experiencing.
“I feel a tremendous amount of sorrow for the pain, confusion, and anger that our (community) is experiencing,” he said.
The spiritual leader has stepped back from his duties pending the outcome of a third-party investigation.
The Kalapa Council, the leadership body of the Shambhala organization and its more than 200 meditation centres worldwide, will also be stepping down through a “phased departure.”
A source close to the organization confirmed that Wickwire Holm has been contracted to conduct the third-party investigation into claims of harm against any Shambhala teacher, including Mipham.
A lawyer with Wickwire Holm did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
The report on Mipham’s alleged sexual misconduct came after a report in February detailed alleged abuse in the Buddhist community.
Winn, who says she was a victim of sexual abuse as a child growing up in the Shambhala community, said the first report alleged decades of sexualized violence.
It also encouraged women to come forward with allegations against the spiritual leader, she said.

JAKARTA, Indonesia — A 15-year-old Indonesian girl who was raped by her brother has been sentenced to six months in prison for having an abortion, police said Sunday.
Both the girl and her 18-year-old brother were convicted Thursday by the District Court of Muara Bulian in Batanghari district in Jambi province, said Singgih Hermawan, deputy chief of the local police.
The brother received a two-year prison sentence for having sex with a minor, Hermawan said.

It was revealed in court that the girl had been raped eight times since September. In May, residents discovered a headless fetus near a palm oil plantation. Police made the arrests in June.
The defendants and their lawyers accepted the sentences, which also ruled that the girl and her brother must undergo rehabilitation at the Institute for Special Education of Children.
It was not clear whether the prosecutors, who had demanded a one-year prison sentence for the girl and seven years for her brother, would appeal the sentences.

NEW DELHI — A woman was lynched in central India on rumours that she was part of a gang that kidnapped children, police said Monday, days after the highest court called for immediate steps to control deadly mob violence across the country.
The Indian government announced Monday that it is setting up two committees to recommend appropriate ways to deal with the growing mob violence.
At least 14 people were arrested in Madhya Pradesh state’s Singrauli district following the killing of the woman, who was about 25, senior police officer Riyaz Iqbal said.
Iqbal said residents informed police on Saturday that a woman’s body was lying in a forested area. Police recovered the body, which bore multiple injury marks, he said. An initial investigation showed that she had been taken Friday night by a mob which dragged her to a village community centre while punching and kicking her and hitting her with sticks.
Iqbal said the woman was seen roaming around neighbouring villages a few days earlier amid wild rumours that members of child kidnapping gangs were active in the area.
The officer said the woman had not yet been identified. “She was not able to properly communicate with the mob and in all probability appears to have been mentally unsound,” he said.
India has a long history of mob violence, but in recent years, the internet and smartphones have aided the circulation of deadly rumours even to remote places.
At least 25 people have been lynched and dozens wounded in mob attacks in the last three months over rumours that they were part of child kidnapping gangs. The victims were outsiders, mostly targeted because they looked different or didn’t speak the local language.
Although Indian authorities have stated that there is no truth to the child-lifting rumours and the victims were innocent, the brutal attacks, often captured on cellphones and shared on social media, have spread across the country.
In addition, at least 20 people have been lynched and dozens wounded by Hindu extremists who call themselves cow protectors and are linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bhartiya Janta Party since the Hindu nationalist party won national elections in 2014.
Most of the attacks by the so-called cow vigilantes have targeted Muslims, who make up 14 per cent of India’s 1.3 billion people. Hindus make up about 80 per cent of the population. Cows are considered sacred by many Hindus, and slaughtering cows or eating beef is illegal or restricted across much of the country.
The victims were accused of either smuggling cows for slaughter or eating beef. Lower-caste Hindus who carry out undesirable tasks such as skinning dead cattle have also faced mob violence.
On Friday, a Muslim man was lynched in western India on charges of smuggling two cows.
Indian opposition leaders expressed outrage Monday as broadcasters reported that police had delayed taking the injured victim to a hospital, leading to his death.
“This is Modi’s brutal ‘New India’ where humanity is replaced with hatred and people are crushed and left to die,” opposition Congress party president Rahul Gandhi tweeted Monday, saying police took three hours to take the injured man to a hospital just 6 kilometres (about 4 miles) away.
Rights groups and Muslims say government officials, including Modi, have been slow to condemn the attacks and that police action against perpetrators has been inadequate.
Last Tuesday, India’s highest court asked the federal government to consider enacting a law to deal with mob violence. The Supreme Court directed authorities to take action against police or officials who fail to comply with the court’s directive on pursuing such cases in a country where there is widespread distrust of the police and the courts, both of which are burdened by corruption and poor training.
The committees set up on Monday will review existing laws dealing with mob violence and see if new provisions are needed in accordance with the Supreme Court’s recommendations, media reports said.
The country’s top security official, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, will head one panel consisting of four government officials and will submit its recommendations to the second committee, made up of four Cabinet ministers, within four weeks, the reports said. The ministerial committee, headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, will report its final recommendations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Indian government recently accused the Facebook-owned messaging service WhatsApp of fueling the deadly rumours. The service responded last Thursday by announcing restrictions on the number of groups to which a message can be forwarded. In India, the limit on forwarding is five chats at once, while for WhatsApp users outside India, the limit on forwarding will be 20.

Waiter faked story that customer wrote ‘We don’t tip terrorist’ on receipt, restaurant says

The Texas restaurant company that banned a customer after an employee’s story of a receipt scrawled with a racial epithet went viral said Monday that it had parted ways with the employee and learned that the story was spurious.

“After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story,” Terry Turney, the chief operating officer of Saltgrass steakhouses, said in a statement. “Racism of any form is intolerable, and we will always act swiftly should it occur in any of our establishments. Falsely accusing someone of racism is equaling disturbing.”

The incident unfolded earlier this month when Khalil Cavil, 20, a waiter at a Saltgrass outpost in Odessa, Tex., posted an image to Facebook that showed a $108 bill with zero on the tip line, and “We don’t tip terrorist,” written in ink at the top. Cavil, who is African American and Caucasian, said that the note was left on one of his tables, and that it left him “sick to my stomach.”
“I share this because I want people to understand that this racism, and this hatred still exists,” Cavil wrote. “Although, this is nothing new, it is still something that will test your faith.”
The incident came amid increased attention given to incidents of racist behavior in the public sphere, particularly as they are shared in social media posts that generate thousands of views and strong emotions. But the ease with which fake information can spread on the Internet before it is ever verified remains a persistent concern.
Cavil’s post was shared thousands of times, generating about 8,000 comments on Facebook. The decision by Saltgrass, which is owned by the company Landry’s, to ban the customer for the incident drew coverage in USA Today, CBS and The Washington Post.

It appears the last mentally ill “lone wolf” who went on a 2016 rampage in Toronto will be free in no time.
In a shocking decision, Ayanle Hassan Ali — a man with schizophrenia found not criminally responsible for the attempted murder of three soldiers at the Canadian Forces recruiting centre in North York — has already been cleared to leave the secure unit of his Hamilton hospital this year on passes into the community, including forays that aren’t even directly supervised.
This follows Ali’s first hearing before the Ontario Review Board earlier this month after a court found him NCR due to his mental disorder, but acquitted him on terrorism charges. The federal Crown is currently appealing that decision, still arguing that a “lone wolf” falls under Canada’s anti-terror laws.
According to the recently released disposition, Ali has been ordered detained in the secure forensic unit at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton for treatment and rehabilitation. In the upcoming year, the person in charge “may permit” Ali to enter the community in “southern Ontario” while accompanied by staff or someone approved by the hospital.

More worrying is the last condition available for Ali if the hospital agrees: to enter the “community of Hamilton, within a 2 km. radius of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton-West 5th Campus, for education purposes only, indirectly supervised.
“Indirectly supervised?” How is that Ali is already being fast-tracked to freedom after only his very first ORB hearing? On the heels of the conditional discharge of cop killer Richard Kachkar, is it any wonder that many have little confidence in a system that is so quick to release people deemed dangerous to society?
The reasons for the board’s decision on Ali will be released in a week or so, according to an ORB spokesman.
The ORB’s mandate is to impose the least onerous conditions while maintaining public safety. But are we to feel secure that they’re already willing to allow him into the community just two years after this very sick man could have killed three soldiers?
On Mar. 14, 2016, Ali forced his way into the Yonge St. recruiting centre intent on becoming a jihadi martyr.
At the entrance, he punched the first soldier repeatedly in the head, then took a large kitchen knife from a folder he was carrying and lunged at him, slashing and stabbing at him with the knife, causing a three-inch gash to the corporal’s arm.
A sergeant rushed out of her office to see what was happening and Ali gave chase with his knife and narrowly missed slicing the back of her neck. He then tried to slash and stab at another sergeant, who in the chaos had slipped on spilled coffee and fallen to the ground.
With his first blow, the blade hit the ground.
While laying there, Ali repeatedly stabbed the soldier in the head and torso. But luckily, the mentally ill man was now using the wrong end of his weapon.

It took four soldiers to finally tackle and subdue him.
During his attack, Ali shouted words to the effect of, “Allah akbar.” He told a paramedic that “Allah” had sent him “to kill people.” Both forensic psychiatrists who examined Ali testified that he believed soldiers were a “legitimate target” due to Canada’s military action in Muslim countries and he wanted to be a martyr.
He was originally charged with three counts of attempted murder, three of assault with a weapon, two of assault causing bodily harm and one count of carrying a weapon – all “for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with a terrorist group.” In May, Justice Ian MacDonnell acquitted him of the terror charges, ruling that he didn’t act on behalf of any organization but was acting alone.
“I have a licence to kill, I have a green light to kill,” Ali had written in his diary. “One soldier is all it takes, just one.”

Certainly it will never be without men telling the truth, like MHz.

And certainly Muslims, many of them are criminals, atheists and wrong-doers, and in this respect they are not different from Christians and Jews.

Because the religion now is almost traditional.. not true believing .. this is in general.

KABUL — A Taliban suicide bomber killed three NATO forces on a foot patrol in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday in an attack that also wounded a U.S. soldier and two Afghan troops, NATO said in a statement.
The Czech military confirmed that the three killed were Czech service members.
The Taliban claimed the attack, which took place near Charakar, the provincial capital of the Parwan province.
“My thoughts and prayers, along with those of all of the 41-contributing Resolute Support nations, are with the families and friends of our fallen and wounded service members, and our injured Afghan brothers and their families,” said U.S. Army Gen. John Nicholson, the commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan. “Their sacrifice will endure in both our hearts and history, and further strengthen our resolve.”
Czech Defence Minister Lubomir Metnar also offered his condolences. The Czechs had recently approved a plan to deploy 390 soldiers in Afghanistan through 2020, up from the current 230, as part of the NATO-led Resolute Support mission.
NATO formally concluded its combat mission in Afghanistan in 2014, but some 16,000 U.S. and other NATO soldiers are providing support and training to Afghan troops and carrying out counterterrorism missions.
Last month, the Taliban struck a NATO convoy with a suicide car bomb in the eastern Logar province. The attack killed two civilians and damaged a NATO vehicle.
Elsewhere in Afghanistan, the Taliban attacked a newly constructed district headquarters in the southern Uruzgan province early Saturday, killing four Afghan soldiers, according to Mohammad Maruf Ahmadzai, the provincial police chief. He said nine Taliban fighters were killed in the ensuing gunbattle.
The Taliban claimed the attack and said they captured soldiers alive.
In eastern Nangarhar province, a soldier was killed by a suicide bomber in the capital Jalalabad, said Attahullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor. He said three other soldiers and a civilian were wounded in the attack.
No one immediately claimed responsibility, but both Taliban and the Islamic States group are active in the province.
Both the Taliban and a local Islamic State affiliate regularly target Afghan security forces. The IS affiliate has also carried out several attacks targeting the country’s Shiite minority. On Sunday, IS claimed a suicide attack two days earlier on a mosque in the city of Gardez, south of Kabul. The attack killed at least 29 people and wounded another 81.
