Nope. My usual is a li'l ol' 9mm I keep in a hip pocket holster. Like this:

My 9mm just sits inside my pants and slips on to my belt.

You have one of those mini 9mm, my buddy has one he carries with his keys.

I'm picking up a .38 Caliber S&W next week..

Something with a barrel that short would be about as accurate as a Bedoin sling. I suppose that you could always throw the gun atthe bad guy. Either that or put it right up against his body and pull the trigger.

Betcha can't do that.

Damn nice holster, though.
Clearly, you don't understand the meaning of "point-blank range."

A gun that small is specific for self defense. Generally when a guy is robbing you, they don't stand 10 feet away and ask you to toss him your wallet.

Wouldn't help him if he did. I practice panic-shooting with the 9mm at 5 meters. Never missed yet.

Boom, you ever try a bullpup rifle?

Yeah, a Kel-tec PF9. Great little weapon.

Nope, honestly first time I have heard of the expression "bullpup."

That is a nice 9mm you have..

My friend in Texas is a total Gun enthusiast/nut. He pulls up to my home down there with a trunk full of guns, and it off to the range. The only time I fired a 357 magnum was with him.. his gun. What a kick!!

He makes his own ammunition.. he has a ton of antique guns, from a German ruger to a couple of old western guns. He's 78 years old and always carries a small 9mm in his pocket.

Never really was a gun enthusiast until I started hangout with my buddy. Now, I don't think I could live without one in the house as protection.

Conveniently closed your eyes when you came to that line in your own cherry picked article didn't you....
There....I'll make it bigger so your advanced age poor eyesight can read it
"We don't have an answer as to whether guns are protective or perilous," Branas says. "This study is a beginning."

Carry on..................

See what following the wind get's you??? "
This nutty statement
Then you obviously did not read the second article done several years later!! Typical.

"Conclusions

On average, guns did not protect those who possessed them from being shot in an assault. Although successful defensive gun uses are possible and do occur each year,33,57 the probability of success may be low for civilian gun users in urban areas. Such users should rethink their possession of guns or, at least, understand that regular possession necessitates careful safety countermeasures. Suggestions to the contrary, especially for urban residents who may see gun possession as a surefire defense against a dangerous environment,61,67 should be discussed and thoughtfully reconsidered."

It's a rifle with the works (action, magazine) moved back into the stock so an 18" barrel rifle is overall 26 inches. Just picked one up last week, a .308.

The muzzle blast is ferocious!

They also make a bullpup shotgun, which I'll be getting next week:

Not bad for a mouse gun. In 9mm I also have a Glock 19 and an old Browning Hi-Power.

Nothing like wasting ammo for fun. Killing the paper people.

Northern Ontario,
A brother in law once asked me,"what's the fun in shooting a bunch of holes in a piece of paper at 20yds...?"
I answered.....More fun than you have sitting in front of the tv set watching a bunch of grown men chasing a piece of rubber on the ice

Yeah, but it's a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Besides it's a private range my buddy has a membership too, and even the GPPD are there shooting.

But I'd rather be fishing, horseback riding or camping.
Sure. Everything in its time. I like to get far away from everybody, no electronics, and just breathe the air and feel the earth.

Greater freedom can certainly be responsible for a higher variance in results. It should not surprise us that a country with greater gun freedoms has more criminal use of guns, and more defensive use of guns as well.

Congratulations on your grasp of the patently obvious.

Normally, I say that as an insult. In this case it's a genuine compliment, because the patently obvious clearly escapes so many.

Except it is not patently obvious for some. They only see the bad and then draw incorrect conclusions from it.
