In March 2002, the scientific world was rocked by some astonishing news: a distinguished US government scientist claimed he had made nuclear fusion out of sound waves in his laboratory. Rusi Taleyarkhan’s breakthrough was such important news because nuclear fusion is one of the most difficult scientific processes, and also one of the most coveted. It could solve all of our energy problems for ever. In principle, sufficient fuel exists on earth to provide clean, pollution-free energy for billions of people for millions of years. To make it happen, individual atoms must be slammed into each other with enough energy to make them fuse together, something that requires temperatures found only in the core of stars like our Sun – over 10 million Kelvin. The idea that these temperatures had been reached in a small scale laboratory using only soundwaves took many scientists by surprise. To them, fusion projects were huge multibillion-pound, intergovernmental schemes with the far off goal of producing energy in several decades time.
Taleyarkhan’s fusion breakthrough was based on a little-understood process called sonoluminescence. It’s a process that magically transforms sound waves into flashes of light, focusing the sound energy into a tiny flickering hot spot inside a bubble. It’s been called the star in a jar. The star in a jar effortlessly reaches temperatures of tens of thousands of degrees, hotter than the surface of the sun. Many scientists had wondered if the core of the bubble was even hotter – maybe even as hot as the core of the sun. If so, fusion would happen there. But until Taleyarkhan, no one had been able to either prove it or disprove it.

Could sonoluminescence be the Answer too mankind's Energy problem Fusion has been the goal of science for decade's ,When we see some UFO videos we see them hovering over water maybe they use 'Cold fusion" to power there craft.?

"Cold fusion" has not been recreated here on earth, but when it does we will then be in an era of unprecedented free energy.
Can Fusion be created here on earth.?
The basics of fusion are creating the same tempretures that occour in the very center of the sun ,where it is so hot that hydrogen molocules are forced together (Fusion) causing masive energy and heat light .

Yeah, they said that about nuclear fission-based power production in the 1950s too. Pennies a megawatt, they said, too cheap to meter. Not gonna happen. There's no good evidence that cold fusion can be made to work anyway.
Can Fusion be created here on earth.?
Yes, it has been. Not cold fusion, but very hot fusion, in the form of thermonuclear weapons. Creating fusion's no problem. Controlling it is.

This little extract from the Wikipedia entry on sonoluminescence might be of interest:

"Recent experiments (2002, 2005) of R. P. Taleyarkhan, et al., using deuterated acetone show measurements of tritium and neutron output consistent with fusion, but these measurements have not been reproduced outside of the Taleyarkhan lab and remain controversial. Brian Naranjo of the University of California, Los Angeles, has recently completed an analysis of the Taleyarkhan results, claiming that Taleyarkhan had most likely misinterpreted the radioactive decay of standard lab materials for the byproducts of nuclear fusion. In 2008, The Purdue University (where these experiments were performed) stripped R. P. Taleyarkhan of his professorship after accusing him of research misconduct, due to his controversial works on bubble fusion."

How long before somebody pops in here and posits a conspiracy to silence Telayarkhan?

Thanks for the wiki link, but the documentary covered this sufficiently for me to understand about the background Neutrons and neutrons formed at exact time of bubble collapse, fascinating discussion on whether it is possible, yet those who professes to have done this cannot recreate their experiments , hence no real proof that they actually did what they said they had,in the documentary the professor declined to take part .

WHY surly this could of only benefited him so why the attitude.
