Melting Poles!

We should warm to the idea of melting poles.

Within our lifetimes, and possibly in less than a single generation, we may witness the opening up of Arctic sea lanes that are fully navigable year-round: The strategic, economic and diplomatic consequences will be enormous.

We don't have to worry about flooding due to rising sea levels. Greenland may.

We should have and could have, but we didn't! Now we will have to get used to the thought of a little global change. Once we have accustomed our brains to accept the inevitable, it is no longer a scary thought. Sooner or later that would have happened anyway.

We will adapt- I'm sure global warming won't kill us there is plenty of other things that will get us. Nukes, asteroids, Bush but I think it's time to smarten up about taking care of where we live.
