It's not going to be easy, I have done alot of research on it lately and it's going to be an uphill battle.
One thing I have decided on is leasing an E85 vehicle as opposed to a regular gas guzzler. I won't lie, I will miss my SUV, I like the handle of the vehicle and I feel safer. But I'm also getting older so I don't drive as fast anymore.
As for my house, I will focus first on electrical power consumption.
I have compiled bills over the last two years and have found, I consume 30KWH per day.
My first experiment will be to replace every single incadescent bulb in my house with ENERGY STAR bulbs. This will cost me approximately $400. I am going to implement this on the beginning of the billing cycle which is February 12th.
I'll keep you all posted, see what happens by the end of the year.
