How does a quartz watch work?

I thought about getting self setting digital clocks and watches. I never looked into it because I figured they would be expensive. :(

I thought about getting self setting digital clocks and watches. I never looked into it because I figured they would be expensive. :(
I have one such alarm clock in the house and any time piece that periodically has to be reset is synced to that one.
I forget what I paid for it but It wasn't that expensive....An atomic wrist watch on the other hand, I doubt that you could get one for under $100.
