Quantum of Light and my Parrot.
=.
The fact number - 1.
In 1887 the Michelson-Morley experiment
showed that the speed of quantum of light is constant
in all directions regardless of the motion of the source.
(c = 299,792,458 m/sec = 1)
#
The fact number - 2.
Paper: “ On the Electrodynamics of moving Bodies.”
Einstein’s second postulate says that
the speed of quantum of light in the vacuum
is absolute constant c=1.

Gentlemen
I have only two questions:
First -
Didn’t my parrot fly to you?
Second -
Why does everyone say that all movements are relative
if the speed of quantum of light isn’t relative but
it is an absolute constant in absolute Vacuum ?
P.S.
You can easily find out my parrot. It studied only
two sentences: ‘ there is no absolute movement ’,
‘ there is no absolute reference system ‘

But can you repair your lawn mower if it breaks down?

The level of mental masturbation you delve in is not worth much on a daily level of operation. It is kinda like contemplating the nature of god. It won't get the dishes cleaned.

And more attention in physics class, that's not what the Michelson-Morley experiment showed, or what it was designed to test, even Wikipedia can tell you that. Back to the books for you, socratus.

It was zero.
This negative result served to discredit the idea of ether and
eventually led to Einstein's 1905 special relativity (external - login to view), stating that
the speed of light is a universal constant.’

Speaking of parrots...

Macaws are waaay talkative! and will mimic sounds to a tee.

One thing though... if you're in any way vocal or audibly expressive during sex, you'd best not perform anywhere near your macaw, cuz that sucker will give the play-by-play - every grunt, squeal, and groan in their exact succession - repeat performance, but not until you have your priggish Aunt Ethel and the ladies' auxiliary over for afternoon tea.

:?D

Don't say I didn't warn ya!

Comment by Kris:
Indeed... it is in total contradiction to say that there is no
absolute frame of reference, and then to say that the speed
of light is constant... in which you can use for you calculations
and experiments...
. . . i.e. the speed of light IS an absolute frame of reference.

However... they can fix their contradiction by making another statement –
- there is no such thing as an absolute vacuum.
With that statement, they make the speed of light relative, yet,
hold the theoretical absolute frame of reference of c.
What's worse is, all "more accurate" measurements of the speed
of light change the measure of a meter rather than the theorized
speed of light in a vacuum.

The important thing to understand is that this is all completely
arbitrary and even is admittedly so ( yet, not in these words )
in the standard model. But, it is close enough for practical use.

How is it possible to say that there is absolute speed of light
and there is no absolute frame of reference ?
Huh?
In the Alice's Wonderland everything is possible.

Socratus, you look like you could be one of those mixed martial artists. (can they actually get that deep?) ...and it makes me wonder if you ever test these theories in the ring. You know, is the speed of dark inversely proportionate to the speed of light - like when the lights go out?

But I'm really more interested in your parrot,

or your rat... do you call him Ben?

Speculate all you want about the things no one can really know, but esoteric issues aren't really my bag.

just sayin

:?)

I'd advise no one ever want to convincingly know these quantum matters lest they be stuck in a little room to dwell on them.

That problem is a thing of the past with this nifty little invention.

Well, as someone who remembers the furor over the pet rock, I'd say if there's money to be made out of it, someone, somewhere, will have invented it.

I prefer more natural innovations. For example I have a built in alarm clock.

I call it

The Boner!

Das has one, it's called

The Bladder.

Socratus, you'll never understand if you persist in misunderstanding the results of the Michelson-Morley experiment. It did not demonstrate the constancy of the speed of light regardless of the motion of its source, it showed that there's no aether wind. The constancy of the speed of light comes out of Maxwell's equations, which were much more influential in Einstein's development of special relativity than the M-M experiment. Also, the speed of light does not provide an absolute reference frame, it's not attachable to ANY reference frame, it's always the same regardless of the reference frame. Similarly, aberration does not show the constancy of the speed of light, it shows only that it must be finite.
