Pet store fire kills all of the animals

LA POCATIERE, Que. — Dozens of animals were killed Monday when fire raged through a pet store northeast of Quebec City.
The pet store, and an adjacent pizzeria, both sustained considerable damage in the fire in La Pocatiere, Que.
No one was injured. The tenant was able to evacuate in time. However, all of the animals in the pet store died.
About 70 animals were killed, mostly cats, birds and rodents.
The flames originated in the building's attic.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

8OWell I guess we don't have to worry about buying puppy mill puppies from that particular store now, do we. :-(

I guess having even a small plan to get the animals out the door in case of fire would be too much to ask.
