QUEBEC CITY — A Quebec-based adult film production company that was having trouble recruiting male actors has opened an academy for budding porn stars.
Pegas Productions is offering the intensive one-day training course for $149. Nicola Lafleur, a producer at Pegas, told QMI Agency that of 50 men who applied to take the course, only nine were admitted.
"In their application they had to submit a picture of them with an erection," she said.
The workshop starts with a morning session on the ins and outs of the business.
"Our goal," says Lafleur, "is to give them information that will allow them to know what it's really like to be a porn star. How much it pays, how often you work, how your health can be affected. We have to dispel all the myths."
In the afternoon, an actor and an actress answer questions from the pupils and share their stories from the business. The actors then show them different sexual positions, and the students then have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with being on-set and with film equipment.
"Students are allowed to try different sexual positions as well," says Lafleur, "but only simulations. We make them wear their underwear."
Lafleur says the company got the idea for a class after a rookie actor who was working with them got a little "gun shy" on set.
"He was nervous, and under a lot of pressure," Lafleur told QMI. "Perhaps if our course had been around he would have felt more comfortable."
Lafleur believes this course to be a first in the adult film industry.
In the morning, a theoretical course is offered to students to show them the various facets of the porn profession. (QMI Agency/ Handout)

Pssh... Grab a video camera, get your significant other or some ladies from the bar, do your thing, host a web site with subscription/membership.... Cut the middle man and "professional" criticism out.

It's the way things are heading these days.

What's a "fluffer?"
lol

well, when it's your job, you might not find it as exciting, so you could need a fluffer to fluff you up between scenes so you'll be shoot-ready when the cameras roll, you know, kinda like what Dave does for the gay porn stars.

...or that's the word on the street in these parts...
