3. A drivers licence
4. Get ticketed!!!! H2S Alive, WHIMIS, Fire, First Aid, Have grade 12 transcripts and driving abstract printed off and ready.
6. Phone ahead to companies even though they may not be running ads.
7. **** the "placement companies" they just want your money.
8. Shut up and listen. One mistake and it's bye bye.

10) Dont take a ten week HEO course and then tell prospective employers your a finish operator,it takes a good ten years before you will be considered experienced by someone with experience.

11) Dont burn any bridges, the key to staying working in Alberta is contacts, over 95% of all jobs are got through word of mouth.

12) If you get a job at one of the mines in the oilsands remember your a number and thats it,Do your job, keep your mouth shut except to ask questions and stay out of work politics, theres folks who will stab you in the back for your job and it happens on a daily basis up there.Once your badge is red flagged you wont work anywhere in the oilsands.
