Living with nature .

How many of us live with the nature these days.....do you miss forests....rivers...hills...?

I miss living in the forest with all the wild creatures, but I luckily live in a small village in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by mountains, forests, rivers and a 200 Km lake, all of it relatively still wild. But even this village of 1500 is too civilized for me. Unfortunately, my health prevents me from returning to my former life. But, I have no regrets. I just focus my attention on other matters. I have had a full and interesting life that most men only dream of.

I live in a small city with beautiful surroundings on all sides, which I notice and
appreciate every day. Mountains on all sides, the ocean in the middle, rivers, a
glacier, lots of
forests, dear all over the place, they wander around the town, and lay around in yards,
with no fear. I am connected to all of it, and wouldn't leave it for all the 'rice in china'.
hmmmm, that kinda fits doesn't it.
It's not the wilderness, but then, I wouldn't be happy in the wilderness.

I've had fox run through my yard, a bear walked through my parents yard last month and also a moose was seen taking a stroll past my child's school.

That's my ideal way to live...close to the beauty of the ocean, mountains, forests, ahhhh..... it does a heart good. I love the outdoors and will be returning to the same within a couple of months. Just in time for summer and great weather.....Yay!!!

Its never too late to live the life you deserve.

We were down "at the river" the other day and saw a family of otters climbing out onto the remaining ice, then diving in to catch a fish, bringing it back onto the ice to eat it.

Spring here, brings geese, ducks, and mergansers, stopping over on their way North. Wonderful to see. A renewal, of sorts.

Not enough people are living "with the nature". Cities desensitise people about the rest of the planet.

Cities are great places to visit IMO but I don't think I would want to live in one. The pace is too hectic and life seems to speed by too quickly. I realize there is plenty to do but non of the people I know that live in cities ever seem to do them; their days are taken up with commutes and long hours at the office, or it seems anyway.

We are nature. We are not seperate from it.

But cities tend to keep us from contact in a lot of ways. I miss sharing my favourite fishing hole with bears or having a doe bring her fawns out to show me (she was such a proud mother) when they were about six weeks old. But it is my own fault. I don't get out in the forest enough.

We get big game (deer moose elk and ocassional bear or cat) wandering in and out of the city constantly. There are coyotes, foxes, coons, hares, tree rats and raptures flying above looking for a fat ground squirell all calling my city home and there is a lake downtown with fish.

Wildlife is bountiful in these parts.

right now im up in northern manitoba... Seen a lynx only so far, but alot of fox and rodent tracks and one set of moose tracks...

Saw a few ptarmigans, 1 magpie and a bald eagle today..

Also saw some common redpolls and boreal chikadees hoping around on the tree branches chasing each other...

I like the variety of trees, tamarack (larch), black spruce, balsalm firs, poplars, paper and silver birchs, willows and alders and those ****ty scots pine trees that the lumber companies plant
