Hebrews8

10This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel
after those days, says the Lord:
I will put my laws in their minds,
and write them on their hearts,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
11And they shall not teach one another
or say to each other, “Know the Lord”,
for they shall all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12For I will be merciful towards their iniquities,
and I will remember their sins no more.’
13In speaking of ‘a new covenant’, he has made the first one obsolete. And what is obsolete and growing old will soon disappear.

Biblical authority for the skeptical position:

Proverbs 14:15
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Ecclesiastes
Chapter 3 Verses 1-8

To everything there is a season, and
a time to every purpose under the heavens:

A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck
up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a
time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a
time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to
refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence,
and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.

Not really, belief doesn't enter into it, those are just concise and useful encapsulations of how I think. There is, however, a lot of insight and a great deal of wisdom in the Bible, as there is in any great and important piece of literature, which the Bible certainly is. There's also a lot of nonsense in it, and it's such a large and complex document you can probably find support in it somewhere for pretty much any position you'd care to take, especially if you're not careful about context. It's been used to justify slavery, for instance, and it's also been used to condemn it. The difficulty is picking the good stuff from the bad, and to do that you need a broader perspective than just the Bible can provide. In particular, anyone who assumes the Bible must be inerrant and literally true is never going to understand reality.

Job 11:7
Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.

Yes. And here's what I think: what you'll find out, if you're paying attention and understanding the evidence, or really the lack of evidence, correctly, is that in common with all the thousands of other deities assorted human cultures have worshiped, he's entirely a human invention and has no reality outside of human imagination. His status is that of Thor, Zeus, Baal, Marduk, Isis, Osiris, and all the rest: a myth.

My trouble is this tho Dexter
I have faith in God similar to how I have faith in the sun. Not because I can see it, but because I can not see without it.

The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls, who when he finds one of great beauty sells the rest of his wares to attain it.

"you missed the important bit out"

The point is clear even out of its full context. Contrary to all that you see or hear from right wingers, Jesus was Prince of Peace rather than a warmonger as they would have you believe.
