The opportunity you have, that each and every human being has, is the accumulated internalized wonder and amazement at the extraordinary experience of ‘being’.
What could possibly be extraordinary about something that everyone has and experiences simultaneous with every other living organism?
It’s the details that make it interesting.
Being ‘alive’ means vulnerability to every dynamic and every influence that’s taking place across this brief sojourn.
When a series of events emerges from a molecule in motion and is coupled with life, the experience of ‘being’ takes place. Before you had this ‘life’ you enjoyed no awareness of the smell of cotton candy or peanut brittle wafting over the explosion of colorful tent tops at the county fair….
Didn’t hear the calliope and the sideshow hawker….
Your life didn’t become clear and bright and joyful at the appearance of another human being…..that persons face alight with the mirror of your happiness….
You had no sense of a willingness to sacrifice to a responsibility a duty and a dream.
Blood never rushed to your face and electricity never tingled mischievously up and down your spine when you hear music or song that plugs right into your senses and compels you to move…..
No ache ever crushed your heart under a burden of sadness that no being ought ever have to bear….
No softer tear ever fell from a mother’s eye to a child's brow than those shed on you and by you for all the children of the world.
No understanding of the broader horizon of ‘being’ that can only be examined through intentional effort and sometimes the suffering that comes our way…
Triumph in effort and pride in the product of that effort is something only the being capable of and willing to… risk can achieve.
Creation is a gift granted to everyone.
We can dance along beaches and watch sunlight sparkle off waves, we can shiver in the exultant cold of a mountain peak’s whispering echoes…
We can balance our wants and desires and strive for our needs.
Wonder and astonshment are given to us whether we explore the heavens with our eyes or visit the smoky magma vents where life began on this planet….
