What can we learn from the German anti-Nazi resistance?

Historically, members of the German anti-Nazi resistance were viewed as traitors, even for some time after the war.

Eventually, resisters within the Wehrmacht began to get the recognition they deserved. Decades later, all but communists were recognized. Only in more recent history have all anti-Nazi resisters been given this respect.

This gives some idea of how intensely emotional the question of anti-Nazi resistance and any collaboration with allies was at the time. And this raises questions. If you were alive in Nazi Germany, would you have resisted, remained politically neutral, cooperated?

If you had resisted, how would you have done so? Was resistance the right strategy, or would political neutrality (which in Nazi Germany would have been seen as just a milder form of treason) been preferable?

What if a pragmatic figure like Hitler arose in Canada. Would you be able to distinguish between nationalism and patriotism and realize that the two aren't the same? Would you consider treason against the state or cooperation with foreign states for the sake of sticking to your principles a true act of patriotism or would you consider loyalty to the state to be paramount no matter what?

That we should rise up and crush the governing class before they lead us to war.

It's an old soup steeped in the cauldren of human suffering, a taste of which is denied the bulk of mankind by the smoke and mirrors of the hidden hands who knead the tough that makes the bread that chokes the the spiritand wields the whips of industry. hahahahahaha

If it weren't for Nazis, Germany would have went Communist.

Judging by the proliferate mention of Nazis in the last seven decades I assume thier importance to this modren age to have been cardinal. In other words we would not have gotten here except for thier contribution.
Isn't something owed?

The modren German tax base refutes your claim of german genocide. Plainly we did not get all of them last time round. The only victors were bank interests nobody else won anything but debt

The common German beer drinker was pitted against a multinational coalition of beer drinkers and succumbed only to numerical superiority. cha ching cha ching the third side wins again.

I was surprised to learn in the video above that around one quarter of Germans today are descendants of ethnic German deportees from other countries.

This seems to indicate that European states were probably far more ethnically diverse before WWII than after.

Another benifit of war, cultural diversafication leading to advanced competition and breakthroughs like plastic grocery bags leading to the mass transportation of foodstuffs while preserving forests.

And the enhanced proliferation of squirrels and racoons.

Well first off, we do have a wannabe dictator as our PM right now. The difference being he's neither a patriot nor a nationalist, except when it comes to Quebec. He's a self-indulgent little sh*t who is going to force Canada to accept his post nationalistic policies without our consent.
He is a man with no principles. How do you march in Pride and then sell $90 billion worth of military hardware to a despotic nation that murders gay people for fun? Why would you allow the sale of a Canadian company that's involved in high tech weaponry to a dictatorship that has acting more and more aggressive lately?
How can you call yourself a feminist when you force a nation to accept an ideology that regards women as lower than livestock on the food chain?

What do you call a person who blows $1.5 billion importing a bunch of un-vetted people already in safe countries but has a wait and see attitude when 70,000-80,000 of his own country's people are forced from their homes because of a wildfire?
What do you call a person who actually expresses his admiration for brutal dictatorships?

The man-child has done absolutely nothing for Canada and Canadians, well except those who are the flavour of the month.
Oh wait, we get to take part in his idiotic plan to save the world by paying even more taxes to piss away to other countries, so we do have that going for us.

He completely f*cked over the Native people, except for the Chiefs who use their people to play identity politics. He stripped around $100 million in federal funding to the three territories, the three areas of Canada that probably need it the most. He scrapped the Accountability Act which, contrary to the belief of morons, wasn't designed just to make them accountable to the govt, but to make the Chiefs and band Elders accountable to their own people. Trudeau made sure they don't have to be again. And unless you're familiar with the reserves, and by that I don't mean you've been to a couple, there are a LOT of people living on them whose financial well being is entirely dependent upon their relationship with their Chief. The Accountability Act could have helped remove that yoke from them, but Trudeau thought it better that they should remain beholden to their leaders, no matter how corrupt some of them are.

I guess one could reasonably say that Canada really doesn't have a leader. We have an impetuous brat who's going to do whatever he damn well wants, or at least try like hell to, regardless of the cost and/or effect on Canada.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, Trudeau sounds like he could be a closet Dipper.
