Finder, you said you are running for Municipal Office yet you don't have a clue what you are saying.

I strongly suggest you don't run for public office till you find out what's what and who's who.

Regional Government are Anti-democratic. There is no elected leader or party in control and there is no Public Accountability for anything.

They are the most powerful kind of government you can have since they are hidden dictatorship in the hands of a few very powerful bureaucrats who do as they please when spending Tens of Billions of dollars each year without ANY SAY by anyone elected.

You are either completely ignorant of what the Regional Government in Ontario is and does, or you are running for office to be another shill for them like the majority of the sleezze bag politicians currently elected in Regional Seats in Ontario making up the Mafia-like Organization forever know as the Dark Nine Networked Regional Outside-of-Control Public Spending Spree Organizations.

They have no integrity and are run by a bunch of common sleezy thugs and bullies and Pimp the majority of elected ***** puppets that support them.

the link just took me to another forum. Sorry, but that isn't a legitimate example to me, but thanks anyways
It not a forum. Its and INFO/Forum where examples of problems with Regional Government in Ontario that exposes by example the illigitimate organizations that control political, social and judicial systems in Canada.

The Regions are the cesspol where the worse (i.e. most EVIL and CORRUPT) public administrators congregate to sysphon hundreds of millions of dollars each year from the public purse, manipulate Provicials and Federal laws, rules and elections.

Canada's worst elected official are ingrained in them and cannot be removed with the Region's ability to manipulate who gets elected, and general freedom to cause individuals harm by using their network that manages most of the polictal Corruption of Canada.

Well, despite the less than useful responses from Ubergod and his "not a forum, it's an info/forum" reply (there's a difference?) I finally found my answer on a web page that was less pedantic and repetitive for my question "What exactly is a regional government and what exactly are the problems in contrast to a Provincial or Municipal one in Ontario?"
For those that are looking for a more intellectual place to discuss this topic, here's the link : http://www.rabble.ca/babble/ultimate...c&f=9&t=001371

babble is a good forum, but I only have time for one forum these days myself.

"Iamcanadian" Perhaps you are right, regional governments (which have very little power, if any which isn't handed down to them from the province) indeed have too much power in your world (which is in your head).

Iamcanadian, I am well educated in our levels of government but it would seem as if you know nothing and you replace your lack of knowledge with fanatasy and now and then you find an article about corruption at the local level or a scandal and try to use that as proof to your arguments. However half the time these articles come from this forums or blogs which are sketchy at best.

Yes there is corruption and government never works perfectly, but to say that these regional governments have too much power! What a load of B.S. If you read the Canadian Constitution it's right there infront of! There is no power in the regional/municipal governments and all municipal and regional governments such as Peel region and Toronto are acts of Provincial parliment in which parliment regulates and controls what these governments can and can not do. They also have the ability to liquidate pretty much on a whim.

You know nothing of what you are talking about and show no proof of your accusations. If it was up to you these regional governments would not have the ability to tax at all and carry budgets they need to carry to provide the citizens of these regions and cities services they need such as garbage removal.

It is your on going ignorance and your need to spread it which pisses me off the most. I don't understand why you believe these things you do when all you have to do is look it up and see these governments have barely the ability to get the job they need to do done.

Regional Governments don't have legitimate power. They have ILLIGITIMATET POWER from doling Billions in tax dollars they get from other governments.

They are the perfect SCAM Governments, that let the Province and the Municipalities do the dirty work of taxing the public, they then take 60% of the Municipal taxes and 60% of the Provincial taxes as downloads, and the skim personally hundreds of Million each year EACH to line their pockests and the pockets fo their friends with Million Hoarded much of it overseas ammassing personal family fortunes after starting as the local garbage collectors.

They are Legalized CRIMINAL ORGANIZED GANGSTERS with their own police force and selective POCKETED JUDGES that manipulate the elections of all levels of those around them.

The put the banana in the BANANADA we have today, by stiking it to the taxpayers without the taxpayers' noticing.

I don't know why I even bother trying to talk logic to you "iamcanadian". You think local democratically elected government which gathers tax money from mostly things like parking tickets and property tax which barely pays for the government serves we get from them, and to which these local levels of government have little influance over any real policy in the city are criminal orginizations. right... you really should go to a doctor and find out whats wrong with your head. Or do you think the doctors are in it too with the judges, local government and the french. I wouldn't be surprised at this point. I just think your lucky that the admin of this forum allow you to post your sick misinformation without banning you right out since you live in a completely delusional world.

Again for someone running for municipal office you don't have a clue about Regional municipalities of Ontario.

The are very rich corporations that spend billions of dollars with only part time elected representatives who spend a couple of hours a month to rubber stamp staff made decisions.

Here is the link to their last published financial statements for 2004:

http://www.peelregion.ca/finance/ar2...el-AR-2005.pdf

They controled 1.7 Billion after spending close to one Billion. This is $2.6 Billion dollars under their unfetered control. in 2004. in 2006 it must be 50% more with all the other dowloads since then. That makes them more finanacially powerful by spending than GE Canada (a division of the worlds biggest corporation)

They have published in at the largest file size possible in PDF at 2.4 Meg to make it take a long time to download, so that te average Joe wont bother downloading it. They probably added a few other tactics to make it download slower as well like publishing it on a 286 running windows 3.11 they plugged into their intranet in a back room outside of their hundred million computer set-up like anything else they don't want people to download easily.

So let me get this right. You think just because they raise more funds then General motors you think something is wrong?

As per page 17 half of the revenue was from taxes 1/4 from other governments (which is normal) and the rest with user fee's and what not.

What are you saying, we should remove that money from them. So one, no roads get repaired, no police from the peel regional police services, no fire fighters, no transit, no garbage service, waste treatment including drinkable water utilities, and a general housing program. You a loon "iamcanadian"

I don't see one thing which really sticks out in that report as being wrong.

Apart from the facts they MAKE money from taxing people which is NOT what Governments are suposed to do, they spend money at the whims and pleasures of Employees who run this strange form of Government like its their private business.

GE and other publicly traded companies are governed by laws and rules of the SEC. So lets say a CEO of GE was giving money away to friends or donating money so that family members would benefit personally by acquiring political power and other benefits, they would end up in JAIL like in the Enron Case.

But Regional Officials are not even governed by SEC type policing, in fact they own their police force and manage their funding and employment, so even that kind of policing is non-existetent.

They att Part-Time elected representatives, without an elected leader or party, and without anyone with a majority vote and you have a recipie for disaster and every gangster's wildest dreams are answered.

Legalized Gangsterism is what results with control of close to $3 Billion dollars in Cash in Peel Region alone and if you add the rest its $20 Billion in the hands of NINE individuals who are closely networked birds of a feather.
