I have a question. How did no one attempt to contact one of her Doctors (yes I realize she forged the Doctors notes and that's my point) to ask why a woman from Hamilton would be travelling to Nova Scotia for cancer treatment as opposed to say McMaster in Hamilton or even somewhere in Toronto? If they had of, this would have been stopped right away instead of $219,000.00 later.........

33-year-old Hamilton woman has been sentenced to two years behind bars for a fake cancer scheme.

Sarah Lucas pleaded guilty in court on Tuesday to using forged documents, fraud of more than $5,000 and identity fraud.

"The fact that you would use the tragic disease of cancer as your tool is quite frankly shameful," Justice George Gage told Lucas in court.

Lucas was involved in what police have called an "elaborate scheme" that saw her make more than $219,000 in false claims from the Ontario Disability Support Program from March 2013 to July 2015
