A dog found dead in a Brampton park last month was beaten to death, an autopsy has found.
The male, brown Cane Corso believed to be about five years old was found May 10 in White Spruce Park, in the area of Heart Lake Rd. south of Sandalwood Pkwy.
“The dog was sent for an (autopsy) to determine the cause of death and the information that was provided was a blunt-force trauma,” Alison Cross, with the Ontario SPCA, said Thursday.
“We don’t know how the dog got into that condition and we are trying to find out if it was an act of cruelty.”
It is estimated the dog had been dead 24 hours before being found. It didn’t have an identity chip or tattoo.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OSPCA.

My wife's aunt used to live in that neighbourhood until she popped her clogs. She was the last Angular Saxon left.
