He’s no Robert Downey Jr., but his homemade hydraulic suit allows him the same strength as Iron Man.
James Hobson, of Ontario-based Hacksmith Industries, showed off his “exoskeleton” — a hydraulic suit shaped like the one used by comic book hero Iron Man — which is powerful enough to lift the front of a Dolorean car featured in the movie, Back to the Future.
He displayed his lifting feat with the vehicle at the GTA Collectibles Expo at the Sheraton Centre on Sunday.
“We have a YouTube channel called the Hacksmith, where we have a series called, ‘Make it Real,’ where we take fictional things from comic books, movies and TV shows and try to make real prototypes,” Hobson said.
Hobson said he has been working on the suit for several months and documented the build on his YouTube channel, which has a following of 130,000 subscribers.
