BEIJING (Reuters) - Speeding drivers in south China are getting clear away thanks to machines which switch the numbers on their licence plates in seconds, state media said on Tuesday.http://feeds.reuters.com/~a/reuters/...hNews?i=wdYLQj</img>

I've heard all the silliness about how to trick photo radar, red light cameras, etc. But everyone seems to ignore the fact that actual police can still stop you AND fine you for having your license plate obscured. When it's so cheap and easy to obey traffic laws, it makes no sense to me.

Somebody's gotta make money. Best to see the gimmick-makers cash in on the actions of the silly too....

I'm just curious as to why the company that makes such devices doesn't get in trouble. There are no legal reasons whatsoever that anyone would need a number-switching license plate.

It's a novelty item, not intended for use on a real vehicle
