NOTE: Hawks will Win Cup Max 5 Games!

The Hawks are clearly the more talented team and have so much more to offer when it comes to defending their own end and they also have scoring talent on all their lines!

they'll make Leighton look like an every day goaltender.

Flyers got lucky by facing a team that didn't know how to shoot the puck, also an exhausted team that had to eliminate TWO powerhouses.

The Hawks will be fine, and they'll be the Cup Champs!

I believe the Hawks will win but it won't be quite that easy.

I wouldn't underestimate the flyers, they have a nicely
balanced team, a big efficient defense, some very talented
forwards, but the goalkeeping, although he did fine against
habs, no one really knows how long he will hold up his end,
especially against the very talented chicago scorers.

I also think the hawks will win the series, I don't think
it will be a cake walk.

Agreed. The Flyers looked very impressive against the Habs, their goals for/against ratio was pretty good, and while one could reasonably argue they were playing an exhausted team that had just played way over their heads for two series and killed off two giants, it looks to me like the Flyers are peaking at just the right time. I'll be very surprised if the final series is over in five, I'd bet on seven if I were a betting man. But I'm not. That just means I won't put any money on it though. Hawks in seven, and it'll be a close, hard-fought series. But honestly, with no Canadian teams left, I really don't care and probably won't watch.

People talk about the Habs knocking off two pretty good teams but they forget about the teams the Flyers took out. New Jersey was the #2 seed in the conference and never a slouch with Martin Brodeur in the pipes. Boston won the President's trophy last year, and while they struggled a bit this season, are not a team to be taken lightly... the Flyers were also only the 3rd team in NHL to win a series after trailing 3 games to none. They've shown a lot of heart and determination to get where they are too.

In the end, I think the depth of the Blackhawks roster will win out. Both goalies are hot, both defenses are playing well, they can both play fast and physical, and their scoring attacks aren't concentrated in one spot... but Chicago's got a little more talent all the way through.

I'm looking forward to the finals.

Hossa will have to up his play a little more, although he
played very well, he didn't score, he must get a few goals
in the finals, they need him to do that.

Although philly's defense are big, and good players, I think
the hawks might make them look a wee bit slow, just as they did to san jose.

I think the hawks will expose the flyers weaknesses, maybe
not in the first game, but as the series plays out.
In fact, with the long lay off the first game might not be
very good, by either team.

Even though flyers goalie had 3 shut outs, I don't view
those shut outs as 'his' play so much as it was the play of the big
defense, who prevented montreal (small forwards)from getting inside to get
close in dangerous shots on the goalie.
And of course hawks goalie must continue his fine play, and
he has made many many close in saves.

The opposite was the case for halak, as flyers came right
in on him, and he made the saves.

I think this series will be close, and the 'goalies' will be the key.

I don't give philly the edge in this series, for me it'll
be the hawks all the way.

I'm gonna take Philly in this series....I hate Philly but they don't have the curse playing for them and talent wise they match up.

Richards....Toews

Kane....Carter

Gagne....Sharp

Briere....Hossa(curse)

Pronger....Campbell

Timmonen....Keith

Giroux...Byfuglien

Hartnell....Ladd

Coburn....Sopel

Carle....Seabrook

Van Riemsdyk....Madden

The only question mark is in goal.

well, ladd is still out with that shoulder injury, but
will be back sometime during the series.

It should be very close, at least I hope it is, I want to
see great games, both teams playing their hearts out, and
playing well, I'm going with chicago, they are our team
in the west, so that's it for me.
I want that trophy back in the western conference.

I can't believe that anyone still really cares about the hockey playoffs.
I know I certainly don't give a crap any more.
And besides that, who wants to watch hockey in high 20 degree weather??

chicago and phillidelphia are alive with hockey frenzy, and
all of us who stay till it's over as well, anyone else,
well, go do what you want.

well chicago managed a 6-5 win over philly.
the teams looked at little rusty in their own
zones, got careless, hence so many goals, but
hawks raised the level of their game in the 3rd,
and held on to win the game.

philly's first goal was a fluke, bounced off a hawk player's head and
into the net.
hawks took too many penalties in first half of game.

Not all of us are enjoying 20' weather, Risus and the play-offs are a great way to kill time before the CFL starts!

Go Hawks.

People who still care are hockey fans....not just Sens fans.

Big difference.

I'm not a chris pronger, far from it, but I did go to NHL.com yesterday and listen/watch his video interview with
media, it is priceless, I loved it as it's always nice when
players get back at the media for all of their tasteless,
'we know it all' attitude about everything.

It is quite a long interview, seems to end a couple of times
but after pause continues on.

Give it a go. NHL.com

Yeah, it will be better when toews kane and byfuglen click,
as they were not in game one, and yes, they still won.
those players were minus in that game.

both teams played rather sloppy first two periods, then
hawks took over, but i'm sure flyers have a new plan for
tonight, wonder what it is. lol

Hawks pulled it off again, 2-1 was the score. No score
till toward the end of the second period.

Sharp got a penalty in the 3rd causing philly to score a
power play goal, but that's all she wrote, hawks hung on
to win their second game.

Toews, kane and byfuglen have to figure out how to be effective,
they are not producing much at all, but it seems that leaves the
others lines more open to get things done.

Back to philly now, and even though it seems like hawks
have it in the bag, the next game is the 'big' one, either
philly will be back in the tourney, or facing elimination.

Marion Hossa is playing awsome.

the Hawks are HOT on the road.. they seem to know how to get the road win.

I see them easily winning at least 1.. maybe even 2 but I want them to win it at home...

I think philly will win one at home, maybe even both, as,
if you go thru both 1st and 2nd games, they were close,
either team could have won, only the last period of the
first game was lopsided, at least that's the way I saw it.

Given the scores, this series could have gone either way.

there has be a score, the game has to end,
there has to be an answer, there has to be a winner and
a loser, but it 'isn't' all that matters in the whole
scheme of things, all of these teams are so close, that
the difference between any of them is miniscule, but we
see a score of 2-1, and we are screaming about the winner,
when the 'loser' is a nano second behind, they battle and
sweat and give their all, and the team with 2 is considered
better, and we call the team with 1 a loser, in real life
that sucks, but it is how us humans judge each other.

GO HAWKS GO (there is no loser, just a team with less points)

i'm being real sappy tonight, it's after midnight, maybe
I should be sleeping.

what an excellent hockey game, exciting from start to finish, very close the whole way, and it was anybody's
game, and philly won it in overtime, so now 'they' are in
this tournament, next game is 'key', very important for
both teams, this game tonight was crucial for philly.
