I was flipping back and forth between the game and a documentary on the the Flyers during their heyday in the early '70's. Man, the memories from that day. They were an awesome force winning back to back cups in 1973 and 1974. They crucified the Russians so bad during that series in 1976 that the Russians left the ice and threatened to go home...haha. I believe Dave Shulz' penalty record still stands today. Players like Bobby Clarke, Rick McLeish, Bill Barber, Bob Kelly and others who left a trail of bodies in their wake as they tore up the National Hockey League on their way to victory. They had that rare combination of brute force and exceptional talent. Can they possibly bring that glory back to Philadelphia again?

Some outstanding play on both sides!

This series has been really fun hockey to watch, in my opinion more fun than the Olympic tournament was. League play, and especially the playoffs, introduces an intensity that the international play never seems to reach. Stuff like Pronger taking the game pucks and "throwing them in the garbage" creates an air of animosity that only adds to the flavour. Its hard for an incident to carry some emotion into the next contest, when its weeks or months away rather than in a couple nights.

These are some great skating and hitting teams, with a lot of skill and great goaltending. It may not be a dream match-up for most people but its great for fans of the game.

Man that was an exciting game! I simply couldn't help cheering for the Flyers when they kept coming back and scoring another goal. They gave as much as they took. Flyers win in OT and now they are back in the series again. Way to go Philly.

The HOSSA curse strikes again!

I love it when a-holes make bold predictions.

Man this is an exciting game. The Flyers aren't rollin' over yet Hawks fans. I no longer care who wins or loses, I am just enjoying some really great hockey and giving credit where it is due. Flyers up 3 - 1 at end of the first period.

Oh, oh sportsfans, I think Philly just iced the cake on this game and made sure that the topic prediction is not going to come true. With a score of 4 - 1 and still looking fast and steady, the Flyers are really working well.

If anything lost this game for the Hawks, it was their lack of discipline leading to really stupid penalties. They should be really thankful that Niemi was able to stop as many as he did or this score would be much higher.

Well, the Hawks had a golden opportunity to up the score when the Flyers took two dumb penalties and gave them a five on one advantage. They managed one but weren't able to hold the Flyers off to get another.

4-2 Flyers with four minutes left in the third.

OOPS! That should have been a 'five on three' not five on one....my bad.

Ooooh, I may have written too soon. The Hawks just got another goal. Score 4 - 2 for the Flyers.

Wish I had an edit button. 4 - 3 for the Flyers, sorry.

Empty net goal by Carter and the Flyers have evened the series.

5 - 3 for the Flyers.

This game was definitely in flyers favour almost all night, then when it was 4-1, I had to go to the
store, and when I arrived back it was 4-3, I missed those two goals, then watched remainder of game.

WoW, this is such a great series, can't wait for sundays game now.

There is no such thing as a Hossa curse, he is playing awsome, if they
win the series or not, he is there for a long time.

GO HAWKS GO

I am really hoping that the Flyers can take this level of energy back to Chicago, tallola and give us more exciting play-off hockey. Has been pretty darn good so far.

With the series now tied at 2 games apiece, that prediction will not be coming true.

True. But I think Chicago will still win the cup, but it will be in 7 games.

yeah, he sure did, great young player, looking forward to seeing him play for many years, and
I'm sure the cabby watched it, and cheered for him too, he's also doing much better these days,
with a fat bank account, thanks to patrick kane, who gladly settled, apologized and moved on, and they stay in touch.
everyone has moved on, (well, most of us lol)

I won my hockey pool with the last goal. I was one point behind and had both Kane and Campbell on my team. Worked out well!

A few thoughts from someone who hasn't been in a position to watch many games for a few years but watched all kinds this year.

1-so many broken sticks making such a difference

2-such amazing precision shooting-not so much in this series but so many goals scored shooting from the side or almost behind the net-although Kane did score from the side.

3-Philadelphia musty have put the word out to their fans not nearly as much idiotic goonery/boorish behaviour as in the regular season.

something or other).

Now you are going to have to contend without any hockey for about three months, but you could check some books about hockey out of the library, if you get too starved.
