The Montreal Symphony Orchestra accompanied the audience of a packed Bell Center tonight in the playing and singing of Oh Canada – it sent shivers down my spine. Way Cool, Montreal.
Well Avro, they scored a goal! Good on the Habs. They are playing like demons so far. Power play coming up for the Habs.

Go Habs, Go!

Canadiens just got another goal!!!!!!!!!!!! YEE HAW! These guys jsut aren't letting up.

We're now in the third period and the Habs are up 4 to 1 ( the Flyers finally scored a goal). Time now: 11:05.

Bart, your team has proved that 'little guys' have powers all their own. Sure the Flyers are bigger but the Habs are faster and they proved it tonight. Lapierre went after Pronger and Richards off and on all night - really took it to them.
The guys are all over the ice, in the Flyers faces, stealing pucks - they are eveywhere tonight. They have done everything they had to do. Don't know how many shots on goal they have, but it is a lot - Niemi got a real work-out.

I just wish they would not take so many penalties - though I gotta say their penalty killing is spot on.

Your team will sleep well tonight -they are going to be exhausted.

You have to be proud of these guys. I sure am. As I sign off there are only 8 minutes and 20 or so seconds left in the third. The Habs have won this won. YEE HAW!!!!!!!!

MONTREAL CANADIENS RULE!

Forgot to mention that, one goal aside, Halak has had some rave saves.

You are so welcome.

With three minutes left, the Flyers have pulled their goalie - not that they have much of a chance of winning but our boys are getting pooped.

And now a fight has broken out. hartnell and hammrlik are punching each other out, gloves and sticks all over the ice. I really don't like this kind of sh*t.

Cammalari and Gill are having a laugh over it. Apparently Briere and ?Sawchuk were going at it then the above got into it.

Still waiting to see what is going to happen.

Okay, someone was called for interference and both teams got a penalty for fighting but Montreal has a power play with less than 2 minutes left.

Some goofy Flyer player - didn't catch his name, broke his stick and then picked up the puck and threw it across the ice. He is gone.

Icing on the cake, Beregeron just scored a goal with less than a minute left to play. Habs take the game 5 to 1. A very convincing win.

YEAH, CANADIENS.

Neither team seems to be playing with the high level of energy they had last time, though the Habs are still faster for the most part. The Habs are doing a good job of befuddling the Flyers but they just took a penalty with 8 minutes left in the period.

Whoa! Gadzooks, I think everyone ended up in the net that time – but the puck stayed out. Gill threw his body into the net to prevent the Flyers from scoring – it was beautiful. Now that was great penalty killing. The Habs came alive for that power play. Now they have to make the Flyers take some penalties.

Halak’s made some super saves so far.

End of first period - 0 to 0.

GO CANADIENS, GO!

Second Period:

It almost seems as if the Habs are saving all their energy for penalty killing. After the Flyers finally put a point on the board, they were given the chance to make it two when the Habs drew another penalty. The Habs denied them that chance, but I have a suggestion for them - quit taking penalties and use your energy to control the puck and score goals.

I don’t know what the Canadiens did during intermission but they are a different team this period – and not for the better. They look slow, missing the puck, not finding the puck, Halak is swarmed time and again – they have to dig deep and find that energy they played with in game three or they are not going anywhere.

Okay that must have been the slow shift as these guys have picked it up a bit but still they are sloppy.

The Flyers just scored their second goal.

End of Second Period: Flyers 2 - Habs 0

Third period

Come on Canadiens! Where is your sense of urgency? Do you really want to go to Philly? Back to that hostile crowd! Sure don’t want to end up in the penalty box there – the fans are right in your face every single minute of your penalty.

The Habs are on a power play right now and they aren’t doing well – no score yet. All their shots are wide or far wide of the net. They can’t keep the puck in the Flyer’s zone. This is not getting them anywhere.

The penalty is over now.

They are being outplayed by the Flyers who really are playing with a sense of urgency.

Sorry, Habs fans, but this one is going to the Flyers.

The Flyer's just got an empty net goal.

Final score: Flyers - 3 Canadiens - 0

Oh Bart, Halak made a really really stupid play. He came way out of the net to stop the puck, missed, tripped and the Flyers scored a goal on the empty net. It was excruciating to watch especially as the Habs came out and scored the first goal barely a minute into the game.

Both sides have had power plays but neither has been in for another major.

The Canadiens are playing well. They are skating fast, getting the puck and making some excellent passes. Halak somewhat redeemed himself during a breakaway by the Flyers when he deflected the puck during a one on one. However, the talking heads are saying that the Habs have far too many one-man rushes - so they will have to work on that.

Score at end of first period is Habs 1 - Flyers 1.

Second Period

Flyers score at 3:07 into the second period. 2 – 1 for Flyers.

Flyers get another goal at 4:31 into the second period. 3 – 1 for Flyers.

Canadiens take too many men on the ice penalty.

Canadiens managed to kill the penalty.

Flyers take interference penalty.

Flyers kill the penalty without Canadiens getting a shot on goal.

Canadiens get an slashing penalty.

Canadiens take another penalty. Five on three for 48 seconds. Five on four for minute and 10 seconds.

Canadiens kill both penalties without Flyers scoring.

End of second period: Flyers 3 – Habs 1

COME ON HABS!

With less than a minute to go, the Habs pull their goalie to try and tie the game but it is not to be. Flyers get an empty net goal with two seconds to go and the Flyers are going to the Stanley Cup

Final score: Flyers 4 - Habs 2

Sorry Bart, next year - right.

well habs finally came to an end, very good playoffs for
a team that was not expected to even make it, so good on
them.
I'm kind of glad flyers won, because I like habs, always have,
but would not cheer for them in a final, now I don't have to have
mixed feelings ,will always cheer for the west.

flyers will give chicago a good series, the team is going
strong, not sure how leighton will hold up, but so far so
good.

GO HAWKS GO

I think finals start saturday.

Habs power play did exactly SFA-and WTF was Kostitsyn?

Gomes=one (1) goal in eighteen (1 games?

It's painfully apparent a lot of Hab players didn't expect themselves top go anywhere either-those are the ones that need weeding out.

habs have a real nice team, they just need to tweek a little. Add two bigger power forwards, to mix with their
small very good forwards, trade price for a good player,
he is a good goalie, some team will want him for their starter, then they can acquire a back up for halak, maybe
even from their farm system.
With markov back, the defense improves again, and I'm sure
they will have a couple of good young players coming to
training camp out of their draftees, and maybe college.
They shouldn't be trashed for not going further, they should
be admired for their tenaciousness, and gutsy play in this
playoff.
The better team won, and should be the team going on.
