Thousands of people are to be able to celebrate the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton without spending a right royal fortune.

A campsite on London's Clapham Common is to be set up for three nights for revellers on a budget.

Named Camp Royale, it will be very British indeed and will be situated just a few miles from Westminster Abbey, where the wedding is to take place. The Common will be transformed into a sea of Union Flags, bunting and tents to accomodate 10,000 people.

And the revellers will be able to soak up the quintessentially British atmosphere whilst they watch the wedding on a giant screen whilst sipping FREE Yorkshire Tea!

And there will even be prizes for best-dressed guests and tents with the most creative interior design.

The pop-up campsite will run from Thursday April 28 - the day before the wedding - to Sunday May 1, and the price is just £75 per person for the three nights.

But this will not be the only Royal Wedding celebration taking place throughout the country. The wedding day itself - Friday 29th April - has been declared a national holiday and there are expected to be hundreds of streets parties taking place across the land on the day of the wedding, just like what happened in 1977 to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

Britain is set to party.

Thousands of well-wishers will be able to celebrate William and Kate's big day in London without spending a right royal fortune, it was announced.

A campsite in one of the capital's most famous parks is set to be a home away from home for three nights for revellers on a budget.

Camp Royale will transform Clapham Common into a sea of tents, union flags and bunting, where 10,000 people can base themselves within a few miles of Westminster Abbey.

Happy campers will soak up the quintessentially British atmosphere as they watch events unfold on a giant screen, sipping on free Yorkshire Tea.

And there will even be prizes for best-dressed guests and tents with the most creative interior design.

The pop-up campsite will run from Thursday April 28 - the day before the wedding - to Sunday May 1, and the price is just £75 per person for the three nights.

National Express is running special coaches from 35 UK locations, so no-one will miss out on the festival spirit the royal wedding is bound to create.

Joy Williams from National Express said: ‘Camp Royale is a stroke of genius.

‘We are 100 per cent committed to giving people from all corners of the country a hassle free and cost effective alternative to cars and central London hotels.’

As Camp Royale is less than four miles from central London and just yards from Clapham Common tube station, campers can use the site as a base to explore the capital.

A Lambeth Council spokesman said: ‘Clapham Common is a London landmark and a great location for royal wedding visitors and partygoers to base themselves and join in the fun.

‘We have hosted many sell-out events on the Common and we are delighted to be part of the celebrations. This event is totally unique.’

The pop-up campsite will run from Thursday April 28 - the day before the wedding - to Sunday May 1

Camp Royale has 24-hour security and the latest electronic wristband technology for quick and secure access in and out of the campsite.

It boasts hot showers, toilet facilities, a dedicated quiet zone, a family zone and a ‘glamping’ zone for luxury campers with 18-foot tipis available with beds, sheepskin rugs and tables.

Groups of 12 or more will be able to reserve a special area together on the campsite so that friends can be together.

If the weather is nice, there are also to be many street parties taking place across the country, as occurred in 1977 to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee (above). Hundreds of applications for temporary road closures have already been submitted to councils.

Dan Cotter, a spokesman for Camp Royale, said: ‘We hope that this affordable option will appeal to people who thought they couldn't afford to join in the fun.’

Oh Oh! More "False Bourgeois Patriotism", the intellectual left in Britain and Canada will be steaming about this for weeks to come. Expect fake news articles about racism and immigrants feeling uncomfortable at Camp Royale.

Just like you racist Canadians at the 2010 Olympics!
