VANCOUVER — A Vancouver woman is accusing a man she met on the
Internet of stealing her car at the end of their date.

The two met through an online dating site and arranged a date on Jan. 9,
police said. At the end of the date, the woman's car was gone.

Police said the suspect has a history of theft-related offences: In September
2010 he was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.

Police are investigating at least five additional reports of a man who duped
unsuspecting women into going on dates before stealing their valuables.

Vancouver police are asking for the public's help to locate Thomas James Newman,
36, who is wanted on a warrant for theft over $5,000.

That's one Hell of a way to make a First Impression, eh?
