— Gunmen killed a U.S. consulate employee and her husband as they drove in this violent border city with their baby in the back seat, minutes after the husband of another consular employee was shot to death and his two children wounded, officials said Sunday. Security forces suspected a drug gang hit, but offered no motive.
President Barack Obama expressed outrage over the killings, and Mexican President Felipe Calderon said he was indignant and promised a swift investigation.

What do you think will happen with the relations between Mexico and the U.S.?

Obama is thinking about closing the International bridges to cross over to the U.S.!

We used to go to Mexico on holiday every couple of years. A year or so ago a Canadian couple had their throats cut in Cancun. They were a middle aged couple on holiday. The Mexican authorities were so disinterested we decided we wouldn't go to Mexico again.

mexican authorities are becoming now very corrupt. they just care to get money and not help out the citizens on things they need to fix to become a better country.

:lol:Whether or not they're interested is rather moot. You're throat's cut, it's cut.

Good decision.

Mexico makes the US look honest. You gotta go some to do that.

We flew over Mexico on the way to Belize. And we'll likely do the same if we ever get to Costa Rica. That's about as close as we'll ever get to Mexico.

I've visited Mexico many times/have lived/worked there for extended periods and would go back tomorrow if I could.

Those deaths are a tragedy but the simple fact is that very little is known about the deceased.

Were they working both sides of the street-selling Visas/protection to one side and were eliminated by another?

That's something I've seen in Colombia-where working with one gang of criminals will get a person killed by other gangsters.

Just because a person has US citizenship doesn't mean they are honest upstanding citizens and just because someone just left a birthday party doesn't mean they aren't on the way to collect a payment/meet with their handlers/hand over illicit documents.

Maybe, maybe not, but there are more people being killed in and around Ciudad Juarez, Mexico that in Iraq. I have a friend who lives in El Paso and at night they can hear the shooting and screaming going on across the border.

There was a news item on CBC last night, typically 14 or 15 people are shot to death every single day in Juarez.

That seems like a lot, but maybe it's just typical.

yeah people in cd juarez are now used to see people dead all over the city, they are used to see this because the government in mexico is very bad and no one do something about it. The president said earlier this morning on tv that his Government wont give a step behind to this battle against drug dealers, but the truth is that they are in it too. everyone knows it! but the citizens are affraid to take action because theyre affraid to get killed.

there has been more than 7000 people dead in juarez since this battle against drugdealers started. something has to be made to stop this! i think the citizens can unite and reveal against all this people that just want to mess the country.
because mexico in general can become a battlefield like san salvador. where guerrillas take place every day over there.
