Layton is going to hold a press conference in about two hours regarding his political and personal future. Their seems to be speculation he is leaving federal politics to run for mayor of Canada's largest city.

He would be a definite improvement after David Miller.

Well, there are certainly a lot of kitchen tables in Toronto...at one time, that was Jack's favourite campaign venue. If he is going to run for mayor of Toronto, that might give him more of a shot at "making a difference"...something he hasn't been able to do much of federally.

Jack seems to be a great guy (he's a guitar player, like me) and I think he'd be a great civic leader...too bad about the politics he follows...otherwise, he might have gone further on the federal scene.

I wish him well no matter what direction he pursues...

He is not running for mayor. He just announced that he has prostate cancer. He will be staying on in his position as leader of the NDP.

Prostate cancer.

Hope he can beat it. If caught early enough, it can be.

Apparently his father is/was a surviver. Early detection extended my father's life by a dozen years.

Bummer. In spite of the fact I dislike politicians, I wouldn't want any afflicted with a cancer.

He's is more of a leftard than Miller. He's a digrace who -- even while a city councilor. He'll beat the cancer; it's one of the most survivable. His father, a former Mulroney cabinet minister, must think his son is a moron for being a dipper.

I didnt realize there was a shortage of these among the profession. One less wouldn't matter.

Public housing is mixed with market housing. You being in the uncivil service should know that so you must be just a common moron.

So he lived in public housing.....what's your point?

Go ahead, respond and get owned again, like you always do.

Not sure why your first comment was called for?

When a guy gets sick peoples true colors show.

"I wish him the very best inn his battle with cancer,...."

Maybe, for reliable and best results, he should follow Danny William's example.

The "point" is that subsidized housing isn't intended for those that are making 6 figures per year.
