Miller is Quitting

Good riddance.

Mayor Miller won't run again. He says he has accomplished all he wanted to do, but for one thing, he didn't close the Island Airport like he wanted, didn't want to raise taxes, but he did. He misjudged the sick pay cost for the outside workers strike by several hundred thousand.

He wanted to run Toronto for 3 terms to fulfill his agenda, but since his popularity has dropped like a lead balloon, he's quitting.

It will take a term with a new mayor to clean up the mess he left. Like I said, good riddance.

Mayor Miller made the socialists happy gave money for arts programs putting a grass roof on city hall and is spending $400 million extra on a light rail system at a time when people are losing their jobs and business are closing down and the tax base is eroding.

These programs are for better days not in a down turn economy.

I am happy Mayor Miller is leaving because I would rather see him happy with his wife and kids.

We just have to elect a mayor that wants to work for a better Toronto and who has better vision not the NDP crap government the people had to deal with for the past two terms.

Party politics does not belong in city government.

Never has the expression: "Good riddance to bad rubbish" applied more fittingly.

Is the objective, in tough economic times, to make socialists happy?
No, wait, we had better spend thousands to count the homeless people. While we are at it, lets spend thousands to study tearing down the Gardener. And we had better try to keep cars out of downtown. More proof the guy is an ass.

Considering Miller only really started losing popularity during the garbage strike, he didn't do all that bad. Now, if he was the stereotypical Dipper socialist, he would have catered to the unions. Nobody would be bitching about garbage or closed-up swimming pools ... but man, would there be some whining about the higher taxes to cover it. It just goes to show you, no matter what one does, for Toronto Tories, it's never enough.

When I get elected I am going to scrap the $1.2 Billion Light Rail transit expansion Toronto cannot afford it at this time besides light rail is a poor choice considering that there are cheaper alternatives for carrying people around the city.

I am also going to change the formula for the funding arts program.

They should be getting most of their funding from the private sector.

Seems the right wingers like Harper and GORDO think spending millions on the Olympics during hard times and making sure the world believe these environment hating right wingers( as most are) are GREEN
Come on Harper. We know you could care less about the environment. You only now pretend to because you want to impress Obama

At least it'll be one less fascist totalitarian left wing mayor trying to disarm law abiding citizens while thugs, both government and outlaw, rule the roost.

Anyone who inherits Big Stink is going to have to appease the folks who pay the bills and are afraid of guns being used to rob them.

True enough, the big smoke affects their brains, and David Miller thought he could rule the universe from his perch in the centre of it . Too bad for him, and all the goofy citizens therin that there is a great big country out there that wishes that they would just shut the hell up.
