The Nature of Things has a documentary called Supercar. David Suzuki narrates at the start so I got the impression it was a Canadian show. Then I quickly heard someone say the phrase, "lower our dependence on foreign oil" which made me think that this is a doc made in the USA and thus it deals with American energy issues.
They show at the start stock car racing, which really isn't very big in Canada. It deals with Canada later, but it is another example how we get the two countries mixed up.
The national energy picture between the two countries is not identical and to present it that way does a disservice to solving this issue that will only become more important. It maintains the colonial mentality. Maybe it is the Alberta/green mentality via the CBC. What dysfunction!
