I'm not one of them, so I couldn't really give a hoot, but, if I'd paid for a ticket to be one of the people he can't stand, you can be sure I'd let him hear about it when he showed up at the concert. lol.
I don't think he said he can't stand them. He said they compare to mashed potatoes without the gravy. So what is that? Humdrum? I suppose he's got his logic to back that idea up, that he would simply drop the two last shows in Canada is a bit revealing on how important our circuit is to some American performers. I guess once you take making music solely for the money out of the equation, you don't have to worry so much about selling out to remain tongue in butt.
He has a point about saying one thing and sticking to it. The point that he made about this being about the Box Masters band and their music doesn't include the Billy Bob Thornton celebrity. Integrity dictates that the music has to stand on it's own or else it's just phony.
Now that it's simply easier to get forgiven rather than acting responsible and true to the agreement that was already made, not to mention, bring up, quickly add or anything else you want to call it, I find it refreshing that someone stood up and registered loud and clear that they brooke none of it. No interview for you.
What's more, that he isn't much interested in sitting through two more nights of people venting their spleen over something they don't even understand, said by someone they don't even know, who is doing something that they aren't interested in beyond the fact that one of the members is a famous movie star.
Anyone who loves that style of music, the attitude that it represents isn't going to change over this. While everyone has the right to express their opinion, no one has to listen or give a damn about it. Billy Bob Thornton obviously doesn't.
