plane crashes into hudson: Hero pilot saves everyone plane en route from new york to charlotte may have struck geese
a us airways jet landed in the hudson river near manhattan thursday afternoon, plunging its 158 crew and passengers, including one infant, into freezing waters after apparently hitting a flock of geese.

experts say that canadian geese are one of a pilot's worst nightmares.

A 4-pound bird exerts
more than 6 tons of force if hit by a plane traveling 200 mph -- some geese weigh up to 15 pounds.

thats it! You've done it now canada!

You guys are just figuring this out now?

Why else do you think we keep sending our geese down there every year in perfect formation?

I mean Canada was one of the largest flight training centres of WWI and WWII, where we trained allies from all over the world on how to be the best in the air against the enemy...... we haven't had much to do since WWII, so we spent the last couple of decades training our geese to be extra agile in the air and to adopt Japanese Kamikaze tactics until the time was ready to decend apon our sourthern neighbors and oppress them into submission through out-numbering air superiority.

This was just the first test..... there will be more......

Are these Canadian geese the same suspects that are Al Quaeda geese on the other thread? This case gets more complicated by the moment. I think you should report it to --- let's see - should it be the Canadian authorities or the USA authorites. Maybe we should go for just the funny papers. :)

Something obviously happened during one of the training sessions. They look like they started to fly in the V for victory formation but started veering off into a heart for love instead!

maybe if we replace the thanksgiving turkey with thanksgiving geese, it may help the problem...... 15lbs????? it would have to be force feed.....I've eaten a few geese, none came anywhere near that weight

If they attempt to step up their attacks on our air force more then what they have already been doing in hunting season, then we'll just have to start arming them as well.......

^ WITH LOONIES!!! And from a good distance up in the air, they can do some serious damage.

Of course our Recons will have these:

^ Our Poppy coins with tracking divices in them..... those American politicians were right all along.... they were for tracking their movements..... Moooo Hoooo Haw haw haw haw haw haw!!!!

Too funny! If nothing else, with 3 threads on this one topic we certainly have it covered.

You are, of course, aware of the fertilizer potential of these birds. We'll forgive the hunting out of season but please cease with the overkill. One twelve gauge shotgun would certainly have been sufficient.

BTW.... A salute to the pilot!

This is what budget cuts have done to our military.

Yeah it's a good thing.... now our sons and daughters don't have to be sent into harms way.

Of course Greenpeace may have something to say about it, but we'll just sink their damn ships with our fleet loaded with torpeedo-loonies..... which consists of a loonie stuck to a wooden propeller with a wad of gum, powered by an elastic band.
