Intersting little tidbit I learned in the 70's.

I grew up on the border with New York State (eastern Ontario) and had the chance to see a base in N. New York - Fort Drum.

At the time, Trudeau was PM and one of the rasons for Fort Drum was a rapid reaction ingress into Canada should the gov't ever become "unfriendly" to the USA.

There were more troops in Fort Drum than in the entire Canadian armed forces. They could be in Ottawa in 2 hrs

What does this have to do with foreign espionage? It raises the point, that we (Canada) seem to live in somewhat of a bubble vis-a-vis foreign interest in what goes on in our little (actually big) corner of the world.

In 5-10 yrs. Many nations will be casting a covetous eye on our water and oil

just a thought....
