Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is warning Colombia not to build a U.S. base on its border with his country, saying he considers such a move an "aggression."

Chavez told an auditorium packed with uniformed soldiers on Wednesday that he will not allow Colombia's U.S.-backed government to establish an American military base in La Guajira, a region spanning northeastern Colombia and northwestern Venezuela.

Diplomatic relations between Caracas and Bogota have been rocky for months.

They worsened last week when Colombia unveiled documents allegedly showing that Chavez sought to arm and finance Colombian rebels, who have been engaged in a four-decade-long civil war with the government.

Yeah...and then he could close down or take over the CBC and CanCon. Then really use the RCMP to crack down on you folks. You could have referendums and have his people elected and make him Dictator of Canada.

I predict something unpleasant will happen to Mr. Chavez- when he started nationalizing his oil production he signed his own death warrant. We can't have socialists running amok and interfering with profit taking.

Both Bush and Chavez are idiots. One can't stand the other because both think they are
Indispensable while both hate competition on who is going to be the biggest and stupidest loser.

Yep, a war-mongering idiot that has undermined the nation's constitution and truncated the freedom of its citizens....

Remind you of someone?

By your description, almost like Bush, except he's not a War-Mongerer, since he hasn't started any wars with anybody yet that I'm aware of, so he's still better then Bush. :p

Oh and that national vote they had that went against what Chavez wanted..... and he accepted the people's decison? Sounds like he knows how to listen to his people better then most.

No I don't, It was a sarcastic statement remarking on how people who try to make a change usually get themselves assasinated.

How many people has he pissed off Exxon, Shell for starters he's cutting into the profit margins of the powers that be.
