The Queen has become a grandmother for the 8th time after her son, Prince Edward (Earl of Wessex), and daughter-in-law Sophie (Countess of Wessex) celebrate the arrival of a baby boy.
The baby is 8th in line to the British Throne and has not yet been named (though the name James looks likely). His title is Viscount Severn.

The Countess of Wessex today left hospital with her newborn son Viscount Severn, eighth in line to the British throne.
She has not yet decided on a name for the baby, who emerged from hospital wrapped in a white blanket.
The baby - Viscount Severn - is the Queen's eighth grandchild and is eighth in line to the throne
Having given birth on Monday to the Queen’s eighth grandchild, the Countess left Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey with husband the Earl of Wessex.
She had been recovering in a private unit after delivering the 6lb 2oz baby by Caesarean section.
The couple were greeted with cheers and claps from nurses watching from a window and a small crowd that had gathered.
A palace spokeswoman said that although they were “narrowing it down”, there was still no news yet on a name for the baby.
The spokeswoman said: “The couple are very much looking forward to taking the baby home in time for Christmas. He is the perfect Christmas present.
Sophie is very, very happy. She has been full of big smiles and is very bubbly.”
The couple are expected to join the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family at Sandringham over Christmas.
Ladbrokes have suspended betting on the name of the Earl and Countess of Wessex’s baby boy after a gamble on James.
The bookmaker originally offered 16/1 but saw the price backed into 3/1 following a frantic morning of royal wagering.
Nick Weinberg, a Ladbrokes spokesman, said: “We have taken the precaution of suspending the market because there’s every chance that there could be people who know something we don’t. We face paying out a king’s ransom if the royal couple decide to call the tot James.”
The delivery was without complications.
Lady Louise, the couple’s daughter, was born prematurely in 2003.
The Countess was rushed to Frimley Park Hospital after collapsing with severe stomach pains. Doctors performed an emergency Caesarean. Prince Edward said after their new son was born that his arrival was “a lot calmer than last time, I’m glad to say”.
