Two Calgary students are in hospital with life-threatening injuries after their school bus crashed on a busy freeway in the city's southwest at the height of the Thursday-morning rush.
An eight-year-old girl was found unconscious wedged between two seats. Rescuers said she suffered major blood loss. A 13-year-old boy is also in critical condition.
Three others are in serious but non-life-threatening condition. The remaining students were taken to hospital with minor injuries but some of them have already been released, according to Dr. Vincent Grant of the Alberta Children's Hospital.
