I think Ann is getting a hard time here because she doesnít speak in youthanisms. If someone believes that Christianity is a superior value system then why wouldnít they believe the world would be a better place if more people shared that value system.
Believing that it would be a good thing if more people would practice Cristianity is far different then a mass genocide or inqistion of those that donít. I donít share Ans view that Crhistians have a superior ethic but why are we singling Ann out when just about any person in every relegion believes their releigion is the one relleion, the right relegion and the superior relegion. I detest people who attack the character of others rather then chalange their ideas. I strongly believe this is a case of Reductio ad Hitlerem and I think it is a week line of reasoning and thinking.
Well I broke down and watched the interview, only to discover that Coulter's comments were entirely unremarkable. Donny Deutsch came across looking like the bigger idiot by far.
This is much ado about nothing.
" If Ann Coulter is an example of a 'christian', who would ever want to be one.I'd rather be a scum
sucking leech, than be on the same page as her. Whatever she is I will be the opposite with pride."
And the opposite of And Colter would be Homer Simpson?
Essentially the Christian scripture states quite clearly that Christianity is based upon what is called the "second covenant" with the god of Abraham. Obviously a "second covenant" would not have been necessary under Christian theology unless the "first covenant" was broken by the Jews.Quote has been trimmed
Christianity is a supercessionist religion that blames the Jews for not fulfilling the "first covenant." The issue for Jewish scholars and theologists is "supercessionism," the traditional Christian teaching that the Old Israel was replaced with Christ's sacrifice by a New Israel--the Church--and by generations of Christians who often sought to get even with those they blamed for Christ's death.
I personally believe that the Old and New Testament have led to dangerous belief systems for fundamentalists of the followers of the god of Abraham. Rigid belief systems are dangerous for our society because they prevent open discussion of new ideas and scientific advancement. Those who have knee-jerk reactions to the teachings of Christianity should read the New Testament to get some perspective. That is why Donny Deutsch was shocked when Ann Coulter suggested that Christianity was a more perfect form of Judaism. Unfortunately, many Jews have not read the New Testament and are bewildered about its teachings.
Whatever could she have said that causes such exercration and proscription within you.
Ah yes, the intolerance
The fact that she is openly defending a Nazi ideal doesn't bother you?
Oh, I forget that you are a right winger.
If you know Nazi history, you would know that those crazed pundits said that cleansing could only be done through fire. Here, Coulter used the same term that the Nazis did and the implication could not be more obvious.
The fact that right wingers failed to condemn her stupidity (which contrasts with the strong condemnation Jackson got from libs) shows their lack of integrity. I would hate to think that her sentiments are a reflection of their ideals. However, I am haivng a difficult time ascribing their silence to anything else.
