Intriguing. Especially for those that follow the Carlyle/Unocal/Harken/Haliburton mystery.

The Saudis already have more than a trillion dollars in U.S. assets and stock market holdings. It's always a good time to review the factual back-up for Fahrenheit 9/11.

Names like Karzai, Cheney, Bush and Bandar.

Carlyle (w/ United Defense Industries/BAE) digs war man. Profits (Saudis too) from war. A lot more interesting than new Chinese landlords.

United Defense products include:

No confusion at all. The Mubadala now has a $1.35b stake in Carlyle, while at the same time, another entity, even larger, holds a huge stake in the U.S. market.

And that has what to do with an emirate with hundreds of billions of dollars to invest?

And?

What do you expect them to do with all their dollars?

Bury them in the ground?

Maybe you're right. They might just like ice cream and donuts.

Why not?

The House of Saud likes expensive cognac and young, thin French hookers.
