The infamous Charles Manson, whose led his cult in the 1969 murder of film star Sharon Tate and four other people at her Beverly Hills mansion, was denied parole Wednesday for the 11th time in his 38 years in prison, the California prison administration said.

"The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation's Board of Parole Hearings today denied parole for convicted mass murderer Charles Manson during a hearing at Corcoran State Prison," it said in a statement.

"The denial was for five years, the maximum allowed by law," it said.

"Manson did not appear before the panel and will be eligible for another hearing in 2012. The ... decision marks the eleventh time that Manson has been denied parole since 1978," it added.

Manson, 72, is among the most infamous inmates of the United States.

He and four of his followers were convicted of seven counts of first degree murder during an August, 1969 crime spree in Los Angeles County that included the fatal stabbing of five people in the home of actress Sharon Tate and the murders the following day of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.

Manson and his followers were spared the death penalty after California banished capital punishment in 1970. Their sentences were commuted to life in prison.

If he was released from prison he would likely be croaked immediately. Jail is what's keeping him alive.

I saw him on a news programme some years back. I think it was the last time he tried for parole. He told the interviewer that The Beatles would get back together when he was released from prison. The interviewer asked him how that could be, since, at the time, Lennon was dead(this is before George died). Calmly and with a straight face old Charlie told the reporter, "yes, but he'll be resurrected when I'm released.".

I don't think we have to worry about the Beatles doing anymore tours then.
I'm pretty confident that, with the latest problems he's caused, still violent, he's only release will be nice and slow and in the form of fertilizer.

LOL!
Hey in one interview he was all puffed up and saying something about being free and able to go where he wants to by becoming a lizard.
