'A North Pole expedition meant to bring attention to global warming was called off after one of the explorers got frostbite. The explorers, Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen, on Saturday called off what was intended to be a 530-mile trek across the Arctic Ocean after Arnesen suffered frostbite in three of her toes, and extreme cold temperatures drained the batteries in some of their electronic equipment.'

This quote was gleaned from yesterday's Sci-Tech Today. Who would think that it would be cold in the Arctic in March?

Ya... Like Duh. It's the Arctic. Global warming means the average temp went up 0.5 C. Not like the equator went sideways. Really sort of like a MADD advocate standing in front of a drunk driver then wondering how they got hit.:banghead:

They would have been fine if the plane hadn't hit their gear sitting on the runway (why it was there??). Busted up her snowshoes.
