8O   That 'thing' is pretty frightening, Pemmican - though it's the Frankenstein policies it would come up with that I'd be really worried about.
German conservative leader Angela Merkel was sworn in as her country's new chancellor yesterday, becoming the first woman ever to assume the office.
She's going to have quite the job ahead of her. Not only does Merkel have to revive the sagging German economy, she has to do so as head of a coalition goverment composed of many of the same socialist politicians who caused the problems in the first place.
Yep. This is old news. I've posted an article in regards to this yesterday within the International Politics section of this forum.
Dr. Merkel will make an excellent Chancellor. She's already stated that one of her first priorities is to re-establish close ties with the US. The economy is another strong priority. The Germans are lucky in having such an exceptional leader. She will no doubt give inspiration to other women politicians around the globe who inspire to become leaders.
Looks like we have another Margaret Thatcher in the making...
