Retinal scan is already being done. It's a "fast pass" system for those who travel frequently and who don't want to stand in customs lines.

Now, that being said, the line up's for fast pass are just as long because of the amount of frequent travellors. Isn't that a kick in the head?

It is just another way "america" wants to control the population of the world. America is a paranoid evil violent society and unfortunatly I do not have any ideas to stop them without violence.
Yeah, America wants to "control the world" by setting requirements for entry in their own country. If you don't like it, you don't have to go.

Course, if we had a better customs broker this wouldn't be such an issue.
We use AEI Danzas..We have a good report, never any concerns.

will require some kind of biometric scanning IE fingerprints
It's an electronic/PC/Scanner...Very simple, no blue/black ink..Takes 2 minutes.

I had it done for my FAST card..

I have a passport. Because I've travelled to countries that required it.

Not once did I think that it was unfair. I see the same thing with the US. If they require a passport and I want to go there then I get a passport. It's all about choice. It's not like you're going to have to apply every year for a new passport. There good for 7 yrs! This works out to $11.43 a year.

I don't intend on going to the US and I know you need a passport to go anywhere in the world. The thing that bugs mr is where are these biometric markers going to go In whos data bases? You give that stuff up whats next DNA .Next thing you know insurance companys are denying you insurance because of something they found in your DNA .Where does it all end ?Are we going to chip everybody next?

Hmmmm! I can't decide whether this is a demonstration of paranoia or a lack of imagination.

As a passport carrier, I don't have strong feelings about it one way or another. I don't think it really does much for U.S. security, but maybe it looks good to Americans. They seem to be willing to accept almost anything these days (in the name of security); witness the Patriot Act.

Requiring a passport to enter the U.S. seems fair enough, it's their country, let 'em do as they will. It does seem to completely undermine the friendly relationship between us and the States though.
For people such as myself who see no need to travel into the U.S. it'll make no difference; besides, I wouldn't feel comfortable having the border guard see my affinity for Cuban holidays.

He means that it's fine when a US corporation sets up in a foreign country, contributes little other than slave labour positions and environmental degradation, and ships all of its profits home, but it isn't fine when a man risks his life and goes through great hardship to send a few buck out of the US to feed his family.
