UNIQLO Vancouver store opening this fall

The wait is over, Vancouver – UNIQLO has officially announced the arrival of its first BC store for fall 2017.

The global Japanese retailer, popular for its casual apparel, will be opening a 20,000 sq. ft. store at Metrotown in Burnaby, its third location in Canada after two locations in Toronto were opened in late 2016.

The new UNIQLO store will offer the brand’s full range of core items for men, women, kids, and babies.

“The launch of UNIQLO in British Columbia represents another major milestone for us, as Canada continues to be an important focus for the company globally,” Yasuhiro Hayashi, COO of UNIQLO Canada, said in a release. “This country’s cultural and climatic diversity represents the perfect platform for UNIQLO and our philosophy of LifeWear.”

“We are extremely excited to share UNIQLO with the people of Vancouver and surrounding areas and introduce them to how our high quality, comfortable and functional clothing can help improve their everyday lives. With the opportunity for outdoor adventures to world-class amenities, we hope that Vancouverites will embrace UNIQLO’s versatile and stylish everyday clothes that cater to their active lifestyle.”

Expect such UNIQLO staples as ultra light down jackets, affordable cashmere, and their line of HEATTECH innerwear.

If you want to keep the excitement going, check out photos from the opening of UNIQLO’s Toronto store last year to get a sense of what Vancouver is in for.

back in the day I loved shopping in Richmond. The asian stores actually had clothes that fit!

Now, I'm average size and find it frustrating that so many stores stock asian sized clothing.

Wonder what this stores sizing will be like....

The conversion table is easy:

Canada size 4 = Asian size XXXXXL

In fairness the Chinese vendors of men's shirts on EBay now make it clear that they are talking about 'Asian sizes' which is why everything is so cheap it only uses 40% of the material in normal sized clothing.

Anyway Uniqlo will be full of the 'usual suspects' rich Asian kids who still live at home and survive largely on Bubble Tea.

Well, that and the slave labor.

Sounds like my original guess was pretty damn close.
