Why is the June 6 deadline carved in stone? Wouldn't it be wiser to extend it for a week or two and get it right? Is it just a matter of some power hungry control freak throwing his weight around? Or is it the case of another A$$hole dragging his/her feet?

The Supreme Court struck down a law banning doctor assisted suicide, and instead of making it legal right then and there, the court gave the government a year to come up with a new law that met the constitutional criteria the previous law did not. The government asked for a extension last year and now the extension is about to expire.

If the court hadn't done that then doctor assisted suicide would have been legal but completely unregulated in February 2015.

So someone is dragging their feet?

And throwing elbows.

Assisted dying is the bill the NDP and the Tories were trying to obstruct when Trudeau waded into that crowd of MPs elbows flying. It had to be postponed because Trudeau spent the next week apologizing.

Northern Ontario,
We all know that it's called obstruction when the Cons do it but.......

When the Lieberals do it, it's exercising their parliamentary rights.....
