Hollywood Hypocrites Demand Gun Control

www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6m0NAq6RDk

Several big-name Hollywood stars appear in a new anti-gun public service YouTube video calling for Americans to demand that their elected officials come up with a strategy to curb gun violence.

In the video, A-listers like Cameron Diaz, Paul Rudd, and Chris Rock read the names of the sites of the most horrific gun massacres before calling on viewers to “demand a plan” to stop mass shootings.

But now a new video called “Demand a Plan – Demand Celebrities Go F*** Themselves” has been created that highlights the gun violence many of these same stars have taken part in in their movies and television shows.

The "Demand Celebrities" response video intersperses the original PSA with scenes of gun violence in movies starring the celebrities mentioned above, plus Jeremy Renner, Reese Witherspoon, Jamie Foxx, and many others.

For example, Jamie Foxx lists “Columbine” during the original PSA, after which the response video runs a montage of extreme gun violence from several of Foxx's movies.

The response video closes with the message: “Hollywood is a culture of violence.”

(Warning, the violence is extremely graphic and may be NSFW and is not suitable for all audiences.)

In comments posted on the "Demand Celebrities"response video, many called the stars who spoke out against gun violence, yet starred in entertainment that featured the same, hypocrites.

“If these celebrities were so much against guns, why don't they refuse to be in any movies that have guns in those movies. We will then see who the hypocrites are. Someone count the number of murders our kids see on TV and in the movies in just one week. Even my favorite TV shows start with a murder,” one wrote.

Another adds: “It's easy. Stop supporting these hypocrites by paying to see what they produce. Boycott it! Don't go and watch Django Unchained or any other movie that glorifies violence and the use of guns. Just turn these fools off.”

“Demand Celebrities” has been viewed by almost 500,000 people since being uploaded to YouTube on Dec. 25. The original “Demand a Plan” video has been viewed by over 6 million people since being uploaded on December 21. It urges supporters to contact their members of Congress with a call for criminal background checks on all gun purchasers, a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines, and the making of gun trafficking a federal crime.

One must remember that anti gun positions are generally not come by with intelligence but by drinking the koolaid, or spending the money.

The vid is two years old....I think it was posted before.

The point still stands though, with Liam Neeson recently ranting on about gun control.

Liam Neeson.

Right.

The only ones against open carry are the ones that have never been shot at.

He's something of an expert on prop guns, after all. That clearly qualifies him.
Promoting his new flick, Taken already or whatever it is. When you fight terrorist you have to say something against it in that light. Somebody used to keep track of the number of rounds fire per movie, I doubt they still do that.

Very ironic in that Hollywood thrives on violent movies but they condemn it when it happens in public. How many times in the past have we seen copy cat crimes in which real life crooks imitate what they have seen on tv or in the movies? If these actors want to get any credibility they will first have to take all violence out of their shows and set examples about how life could be more peaceful if their scripts called for nonviolent ways to end conflicts.

Too true, however, i no longer must deal with it. I am simply too old, i do not travel either, just sit home with my er...umm...protection always handy. Being in a rural area i seldom need it, other than whacking the occasional Bear that tries to eat my chickens and smacking the black Squirrels which have shown up to eat my Hazel and Walnuts. I just wag my finger at the flying Coyotes ;-) Wait a minute, i guess i need it.........

I suggest that you're the perfect person to do it. You should dedicate the rest of your life to watching every film produced and counting gunshots, annually compiling a report, and sending it to Mental Illness Canada.
