ISIS apparently hacked into the U.S. Central Command's Twitter account on Monday afternoon.
An ISIS hacker group has infiltrated the U.S. Central Command Twitter account and threatened American soldiers.
The so-called Cyber Caliphate seized the account around 12:30 p.m. Monday and sent a message reading, “AMERICAN SOLDIERS, WE ARE COMING, WATCH YOUR BACK. ISIS."
A pastebin link contains files, supposedly of sensitive Pentagon documents.
The group claimed to have taken over the account as part of its “CyberJihad,” and had changed it’s cover photo to that of a hooded man.
The tweets threatened American soldiers.
“You'll see no mercy infidels. ISIS is already here, we are in your PCs, in each military base. With Allah's permission we are in CENTCOM now,” the document reads. “We won't stop! We know everything about you, your wives and children. U.S. soldiers! We're watching you!”
Among the information leaked were the home addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of retired Army general officers. Also leaked was information on military details concerning China and North Korea.
The group has also hacked CentCom's YouTube account and posted ISIS propoganda videos, one called "Flames of War" and another called "O Soliders of Truth Go Forth."
ISIS has used cyber warfare along with physical terror.
The Twitter account frequently tweets out updates and news releases on the American airstrikes aimed at ISIS locations in Syria and Iraq. CentCom is based at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
Last week, the group hacked the Twitter page of the Albuquerque Journal in New Mexico and WBOC-TV in Maryland and posted similar threats.
