BARRIE, Ont. — Bystanders blocked two suspected drunk women, a mother and grandmother, from loading children into a car and driving it Wednesday afternoon in the city's south end, police say.
Police received several calls at 4:25 p.m. about two drunk women.
When officers arrived on scene, they determined a mother, 29, and grandmother were intoxicated.
The mother was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
She was taken to the police station to sober up.
Police made arrangements for a relative to pick up the children.
